Fun Fact- For anyone who is wondering, yes Darnell McDonald and James McDonald are related. They’re cousins.

With the infield hit in the first Adrian set a new single season high for infield hits. Even though this one had more to do with the Pirates then with himself.

Jose Tabata came up lame after running out a bunt single in the first. Garrett Jones(.251) in to pinch run.

Darnell McDonald (.119) is in RF for Drew who had to leave the game do to a swollen head. You just can’t make this stuff up.

Andrew Miller doesn't suck.
Bases loaded, nobody out, game tied, Pedey up. They can't squander this opportunity, can they?

Play at the plate: Papi bowls the Pitt catcher over. The Pitt catcher hangs on to the ball, but Papi is still called safe. Pitt home radio dude says the call is correct.

Yes, correct call. Papi's right foot touched the plate before the tag.

The Pittsburgh home radio dudes were talking about the Pirates' upcoming trip to Toronto, and they referred to Jose Bautista as 'Joey Bats.' I'd never heard that one before. Only in (North) America can you find a Dominican Baseball Player with an Italian Mob style nickname. :jester:

The Pirates are going to hate to see the Sox go. They win the series plus get record crowds in the stadium it truly been a win-win for them.

It has truly been an ugly defensive game. The Pirates have four errors wich ties their season high.

Pap picks up his 14th save of the season and the Sox salvage the third game of the series. I’m not sure what their financial situation is but if the Pirates could add an offensive piece to go along with their pitching they could be contenders.

PS: Phantom mojo check

Red Sox were on a four-game losing streak
They had to put a AAA callup out there in an emergency start
They scored the two go-ahead runs without the benefit of a hit

Hmmm ... that's one way for your mojo to make an entrance.

:applause:

I'll keep it going as long as I can, but Tuesday is going to be a tough game to win either way with Beckett pitching after skipping a start and going against Lee who has been one of the best pitchers baseball over his last four starts, going 4-0 with an ERA of 0.27.

Ugggh. Can you imagine having a squirt gun or water balloon fight using the sludge coming out the pipe in that picture I posted? I think that would qualify under the Geneva Convention as 'illegal chemical warfare.' :icon_oak:

Yeah, but it's Josh Freaking Beckett. He's facing an opponent who may be his equal on paper ... but so did Tim Thomas. This would be an excellent time for Mr. Beckett to 'Timmy Up.'

McCutchen CF .000 (0-2 on the year)

Um...
Where did you find that?

He's had a few more at bats than that...

It seems he mistakenly posted pitcher Daniel McCutchen's stats, rather than CF Andrew McCutchen's stats.

Yeah I figured. lol

Anyway, great series and thanks for helping us break our attendance record (previously set during the Phillies series earlier this year). We always get alot of opposing fans for series like this, but the improved play this year is bringing what would be opposing fan-induced sellouts to opposing fans + lots of excited Pirates fans induced record breaking attendance.

Only complaint is the way the Sox threw at our rookie catcher after the stuff with Pedroia. I mean, James McDonald came up right after he almost hit Pedroia, and nothing was done (and he was walked anyway), and then later they throw at a guy in his first big league game who just happens to be on McDonald's team. That's one of the reasons I dislike the DH. Its almost like the Sox were so used to not being able to retaliate directly against the pitcher they take umbrage with that they completely forgot McDonald has to bat in the NL.

Anyway, I'm pissed I didn't get to go to any of the games. I hear the atmosphere and the chanting/taunting between the 2 fanbases was tremendous.
Go Bucs. :pirate2:
