I needed that 7th inning like I needed to find out Lebron James is my true biological father.

Sorry that I was late to the party, was busy taking a Lackey. Wish that we could flush this guy that easily. :hang:

It is May 11th, and John Lackey's ERA (measured in runs) is 8.01, while the Massachusetts minimum wage (measured in US Dollars) is 8.00.

I'm just saying.

F*** you, Lackey.

I'm with you. Hate is a strong word, but I can not stand him. I'm also so sick of the "Lackey Face." Orsillo's sidekick last night, Gregg Zaun referred to it as competitiveness. What bullsh*t. Lackey's disgust toward his own teammates is annoying and unprofessional. Wait. Never mind. I hate him.

I was going to ask why Francona left him in so long, but here's the answer.

Terry Francona kept Lackey in longer than he normally would have because he admitted he was trying to stay away from Matt Albers, Daniel Bard, and Alfredo Aceves, who normally pitch when the Sox have the lead. Francona wanted to give all of them proper rest, but in the process Lackey was pummeled and threw 118 pitches. If you want to read more about the Lackey suckfest this season here's the link (http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2011/05/whats_wrong_wit.html).

Agree. If I was good at searching through the archived threads and stuff, I would find my post from the beginning of last year where I said this.

We have both posted about it in the past.

Last night he did it when Crawford failed to make a catch in the outfield. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he (Lackey) had already sealed our fate in that inning.

I cringed when I saw the final score. Then I saw who was pitching I realized this is no surprise to me...Lackey is just that. Lacking in skills. What a waste of talent.

Do you think the old 'Idiot' crew with Schilling, Damon et al would have let him get away with that crap more than once?

I honestly felt like Lackey would settle down and have a decent 17-10-ish, mid-3's ERA kind of season.

He stands in front of a microphone, appearing quite nonchalant and says the STUPIDEST things. I think the "he can't cut it in this market" excuse is thrown around a bit more than is warranted with some players and I don't think Lackey's in the Lugo/Renteria camp but I know one thing:

"Boston fans can't stand John Lackey in this market."

Keep throwing up on your shoes, Johnny boy.

That first one was the one I was looking for.

However, there might be more to the story than his performance on the field. He did offer one morsel about a possible personal issue he's going through when he told the media, "Everything (bleeps) in my life right now to be honest with you."

When the Globe's Michael Vega asked him if everything was OK, Lackey didn't want to elaborate, indicating it was a personal matter. Lackey revealed in spring training that his wife, Krista, was battling breast cancer.

This might possibly explain his lack of concentration or the mental effect that it's having on his game...either way it's not a good situation right now.:icon_eyes
