Got my GameCast on. This game is almost an hour in and they're not even out of the 2nd yet.

Looks like there'll be TWO marathons in Boston today. Oooooooh, Dice-K.

Who is this new Red Sox pitcher???

Historically though Dice-K has always done well against Toronto. We should have him pitch all three games of a Blue Jays series, then sit him until the next time we play them.

Given his track record in Japan, he could probably handle that.

This may be the team we thought we were getting this season.

Joolz mojo is on steroids, that's the only logical explanation for Dice K's performance today

In this start alone, Matsuzaka cut his ERA from 12.86 down to 6.43. That's almost exactly half (I don't know what the next digit of precision was), for those of you keeping score at home.

This outcome took some serious mojo. :applause:

Cue the Standells.

We lost the shutout on a bad call. Oh well, I'll take it.

Dudes on WEEI (via XM) said it was gone anyway.

I saw it, and the replay, and I wasn't convinced.

A win is a win... not gonna complain either way.

Anyone actually see this game?

How was Matsuzaka's velocity?

I got busy and only saw the last 2 innings he pitched but I consistently saw about 92 on his fastball

Either Jed was wearing a Dice-K mask or I should be watching for animals heading south before the inevitable apocalypse.

Dice-K had a FIVE pitch inning.

My. Mind. Is. Blown.

By the way, petition to change SOSH to SOJL.

You watched on GameCast and I'm assuming they don't show velocity. Sometimes I watch MLB Gameday and it has detailed pitch data. Do you prefer GameCast and if so, why? Just curious.

I was working though so other than checking the situations, I wasn't able to really concentrate on what or how he was throwing.

GameCast is the best option for when you can't watch or listen though. More info than you need but very, very nice to have. Kills the time between pitches if you really have time.

I was using the MLB At-Bat app for Android. It does the pitch by pitch and also has the audio (home or away). Love it when I can't watch.

I got to watch the whole game. He topped out around 94. He looked really good at times but we need to remember that Toronto is the one team in the league that's never figured him out.

Most impressive stat? It's not the one hit. It's the ONE WALK. If I remember correctly, it was a 4-pitch walk. There was definitely one moment about halfway through when I thought he was about to lose his control. The Jays swung their way out of a couple more walks, and he righted the ship.

Bottom line folks, don't replace the Citgo sign with a giant Dice-K statue just yet. You know what they say about a stopped clock. I'm not quite prepared to grant him a stay of execution.

He was in good control of his pitches I felt, but then I am bias toward him( don't hurt me yet) for I do like him even though he ages me every time he pitches but this game major improvement, hopefully it is substainable

I wouldn't worry about anyone hurting you Muse for your opinion. You like Dice K...your entitled to like Dice K. I was as shocked as anyone that he did as well as he did. This is one pitcher that I was concerned was losing his stuff either through basic pitching mechanics or mentally not being focused. I will take a victory any day over a loss. Just MHO. :)
