I have no problem with taunting... as long as we "play fair"!

I feel the Dolphins get off pretty light for a division rival of a Boston sports team.

The truth is, I really hate them with every fiber of my being and their entire organization as well as their fan base can absolutely nom nom nom on my delicious wedding tackle.

Well, I'm off to watch the game. Perhaps not as closely as others though...

Credit where it's due.

The Dolphins were clearly the better team ... in the first quarter.

Which, if you do the math, works out to be exactly fifteen minutes' worth of fame.

It wasn't that you won it, it was that we lost it. The Dolphins do that every once in a while, just completely fall apart. Sometimes I'm happy we have Chad Henne, sometimes I'm not. Right now I'm not.

In all seriousness, that game should have been closer than it really was. But like Gruden and Jaworski kept repeating ad nauseum, you can't make mistakes like that against teams like the Patriots and expect to have a chance.

The great thing about NFL divisional rivalries ... they play twice a year. See you the day after New Year's.

I'd be worried about your defense. We kept driving downfield and then being stupid. Like I said, we beat ourselves.

One positive I took from this game: Vontae Davis OWNS Randy Moss. I kind of knew that coming in, but it was solidified today. Chris Berman predicted a big game for Moss, (since he is marketing himself in his upcoming free agency), and he couldn't have been more wrong. Davis is this division's 2nd best corner, behind Revis.

All would have been well had Moss hung on to that 'fake spike' pass.

This is one week where they did not need him though. They scored five touchdowns five different ways: Run, Pass, Kickoff Return, Blocked FG, and Pick-6. MNF said that was some kind of record.

The FBI launched a full investigation this morning to uncover the truth of whether or not the Dolphins in fact employed a special teams coach. Upon confirmation, that man was immediately drawn and quartered.

Not drawn and quartered, but he has lost his job (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Ah9TalI_WUu_NUSucLyW7F1DubYF?slug=ap-dolphins-specialteams).

Word is he lost his job during or immediately after the game, but out of respect they waited until the next day to announce it.

Seriously.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery. I instantly hated Peyton Manning ten times as much when he (unsuccessfully) tried that play, and now I hate Tom Brady ten times as much (didn't realize that was possible) because he tried it too.

Dan Marino still owns that play.

I hate when we go to NE at the very end of the season. The schedulers should at least ensure that only happens every other year, it's only fair.

Isn't the same when the Pats go to 90 degree humid Miami in Sept?

Yes. That's what I'm saying. On odd numbered years, the game is in Miami in September and New England in December -- too hot for the Pats, too cold for the Fins.

On even numbered years, the game is in New England in September and Miami in December -- pleasant in both places.

Isn't that fair?

Fish got hosed on that late goal-line fumble call today.

Under the circumstances, the Referee who reviewed the play did everything exactly correctly according to 'The Book.'

The Head Linesman should never have blown the whistle in the first place. In cases like that where football possession could be in question, he's got to let them sort out which team has the ball before he blows the play dead.

I think it is fair both ways, no? It's fair when they both get to play in more neutral weather and it is fair when they get to play in more regional weather. Isn't that the point of a "home field" advantage?

I don't think it's fair in both ways. I think all things being equal, when the scheduler puts the game in NE and when he puts it in MIA, even a couple weeks earlier or a couple weeks later, makes a huge difference who wins.

With Week 1 being considered the optimal time for the Dolphins to host the Patriots and Week 17 being the optimal time for the Patriots to host the Dolphins, it'd be interesting to look back and see who got the advantage over the years.

I'm not whining or saying we're getting screwed because hell, we could have the advantage here for all I know... I'm just saying I bet they could make it pretty even if they wanted to. I just know that every year as soon as the schedule comes out, I look at when we go to Foxboro and pray that it's in September or October.

Only in football could a team do exactly what they need to win, have the officials miss the call, have the officials review the call, have the officials admit their mistake, and STILL not have the situation rectified. "After review, Miami won, but... our bad, we blew a whistle so Pittsburgh wins."

Every game has quirks that need special rules to iron out. In baseball, it's the infielder intentionally dropping a pop fly to turn it into a double or triple play. This was fixed by the "infield fly rule", quirky but neccessary.

In football, this kind of crap can happen and there's no way to institute an infield fly type of rule. You can ask the refs not to blow the whistle if strange things are afoot at the Circle K, but that'll never happen.

Bottom line, we did exactly what we needed to do -- strip the ball at the 1 and fall on it for the game-winning change of possession -- and everyone knows it except Ben Roethlisberger, who lied in the post game interview and said his whole body was covering it on the bottom of the pile. Really, the only question was which of the six Dolphins players in the area actually had it. Great, clutch defensive play, but we get no credit for it, and that's pretty shitty.

Head to head the Dolphins own an 11 game advantage. In September games played in Miami the Pats are 0-6. In December/January games in Foxboro the Pats are 8-4. Pats record at home against the Dolphins is 26-17 a .600 record. It improves slightly in Dec to .666. Dolphins have a much greater home field advantage than the Pats. Dolphins are 33-11 at home vs. the Pats. A .750 winning percentage.

Completely ignoring the records... there's been 6 early matchups in Miami but 12 late matchups in New England.

Those numbers should be closer to the same. There's been six years where the Dolphins had to play in the cold but the Patriots didn't have to play in the heat.

There have been a bunch of games in Miami in October as well. And let's face it coming from New England where it is 40-50 degrees and dry to Miami where it is 75-80 and humid still seems like an advantage to me. Miami has had another 3 home games in the first week of Oct and they are 2-1 in those games. Keep in mind that the avg daily temperature for Foxborough in December is 41 degrees. While that is colder than Miami it isn't exactly sub-artic. It isn't even below freezing.

A good point. I still say, make it fair though. If New England has to play at Miami somewhere Week 1-4, then Miami must play in New England Weeks 14-17. If one team doesn't go, then both teams don't go. The climates are just so very different that, in my opinion, something like this is needed.
