When we we kids, a friend and I found a bunch of ancient baseball cards in an alley. The cards included a Mike Schmidt rookie card, and several tobacco cards. Somehow, he ended up with all of them. Oh, yes. I remember how. They all looked like they had been a dog's chew toy. He took them to a dealer, and they confirmed that they were all really worthless. Damn nearly broke that kid's heart.

"ancient"? I have a Mike Schmidt rookie card in my attic that I bought in the 70's when I was a kid . . . I mean, I'm not that old . . . am I? :(

Heh. I should have stated that the Schmidt was the only of the more recent cards in the bunch!
