Posting an Animated GIF Problem

I hope someone can help. When I try to post an animated GIF the extension changes to .jpg. At first I thought it was because of the size. Then I copied and saved Mikie's Cinco de Mayo animation that he posted and sure enough it changed to .jpg and wasn't animated. Anyone know why/how to fix it? Thanks!

are you using the manage attachments?

I never do I just copy the link and do below
{img}http://www.linktowhateveryouwant{/img}

replace {} with []

Thanks Mikie. That worked! Too bad I saved a bunch and renamed them so I don't know the original link. Lesson learned. I owe you rep (I need to spread some around first).
