Wow. It's too bad it cuts away to Scioscia so quickly. It's hard to tell if the spit hit the ball. It's already made it to Google News. As expected, they are calling Angel fans "paranoid." Some links:

It's like he's checking to see if anyone is looking then spits. That makes him look pretty guilty. Scioscia will definitely have the umps check the ball to break his rhythm if he gets the chance.

There's little to no deception at all on his part. He's not going to spit down on a ball that's 9 - 12 inches from his face in the 9th inning of a nationally televised playoff game.
I was once convinced that a Jack Clark homer hit the Moosehead sign 2,450 feet from home plate in Fenway.... because that is how it appeared when I saw it on TV.
