Found myself listening to WEEI this morning. There were a bunch of them having a round table discussion about the Sox. Questions posed were things like "Who would win the most games as a starter" and "Who will have a tougher transition, Daisuke or Papelbon", they also talked about how many games J.D. Drew would play, etc.,.

I hate getting sucked back into the Red Sox, especially since they dominate the airwaves from now until October. But it's hard not to get pulled in.

It's weird, now that I moved out of the Boston area, I actually miss EEI. Whenever I'm back in the area I'm listening to as much Boston Sports talk radio as possible.

Though I can't say I'm a fan of all the JD Drew bashing. Let's give the guy a chance to perform before we throw him under the bus shall we? It's not like anyone one of us wouldn't sign that contract personally. On the flipside, everyone has low expectations but I fear his rope is too short.

they did not say whether "the fans" were rug-rats on school vaca (as I suspect it may have been) so I will find it interesting to see what kind of reception he gets from the Blue-Hairs once "real ST" games begin

it is Dice-K time and all others who hate the spotlight will benefit from his being here

I think part of the "no deal" with Shill is that the pressure of No.1 pitcher will be on Dice-k no matter what and the Beckett, Papelbon and lester Trio will be secondary news next year

You can stream it over the Net.

Someone mentioned the Drew thing this morning (Tony Mazz, I think). He basically said that, if there's any bashing, it should be for Sox management for that bloated whale of a deal. As Tony put it, "Drew didn't offer HIMSELF that contract." So we shouldn't pick on him. Hell, I can't play ball, but if someone offered me 70 million I'd take it... and don't be pissed at ME for it, be pissed at the morons who paid me! :D

True. Like the old saying goes: "Everything is worth exactly what someone will pay for it".

Yeah, just not at work which is when I'd prefer to listen, or during my commute.

yeah i just checked out WEEI website.. i guess i can listen to it online. would be nice to have a place to listen to the games. Basically here its just Phillies and Orioles so unless the Sox are playing them I'm basically left out. How depressing

I'm in the same boat. WEEI blacks out audio for the games though so you won't be able to listen to them there. MLB.com offers packages on gameday audio as well as streaming video which I'm now forced to sign up for since the games are going to Direct TV (this issue should be it's own thread).

The worst part is, I heard yesterday that MLB Extra Innings (previous provider) matched Direct TV's offer btu MLB rejected it.

I thought I heard somewhere that the Red Sox broadcasts are blacked out online because MLB has their Gameday Audio subscription. $15 for the entire season seems like a good deal if you can't get access any other way.

See info here.

You made it official though with the linkage! I'm too lazy for that. You're all just gonna have to take my word for it most of the time. :D

Checking the link though, $119 for MLB.TV Premium is probably where I'll go. So I'll be tuning in from a laptop.....sigh.
