This 3-run deficit has that vibe... Like it may as well be 10 runs tonight.

That may have been the softest 5 runs the Sox have scored this year, but I'll take it :)
Saunders was talking to himself after that inning

I didn't even know we were allowed to score 5 runs all in the same inning.

Is it time to start a DFA countdown on this guy?
Nahhh ... they wouldn't bother during the September callup ... would they?

In his defense, he would have been out of that inning if not for Captain Intangibles but you know he was serving up those runs after that.

All fifteen of the Red Sox shortstops were instrumental in this win. Awesome.

After that ending, and the HBP to Vlad, how much you want to bet some poor Red Sox batter takes one off an ass-cheek tomorrow?

Seriously, that has to be a record for most times reaching base by a collective group of SS in MLB history. It HAS TO BE.

Too funny, not more than 2 months ago some people were saying this season had the 2006 stamp all over it

I hate the Amica pitch zone. It's way way off. That pitch may have been a strike, but it was not right down the heart like the thing says. It's always wrong.

Yep, and those people were promptly told to leave the Red Sox bandwagon and never come back. Any real fan knows that a BAseball season is a series of Ebbs and Flows; you just hope that your team Flows more than they Ebb and that they get it together in time for the playoffs (See the 2oo4 Red Sox)

The K-zone on ESPN said it was in the middle third, maybe an inch above Green's knees.

I forgot this game was on ESPN too, I watched the whole thing on NESN. Yeah, the K-Zone is a little better but I still don't trust it. I think those things react to the catcher's frame, not the flight path. You could see Napoli snap the ball upwards (way upwards) to frame it... clearly his initial reaction was that it could be borderline. Fuentes' (and Scoscia's) reactions were both based on the frame, not the pitch. The frame was a definite strike, and he held it there. I think the umpire's call was a little more borderline than it was ridiculous. I certainly don't let my opinion get swayed one way or another by crappy Amica zone or K-Zone though.

Would have been interesting to see what the defense would have looked like in the top of the 10th if the game had been tied. Shortstops at every position?
