I've heard of this guy. He's not very good.
Let's hope the Yanks sign him by August 31, so he can be eligible for the post-season roster.

The pre-2004 Red Sox fan in me thinks, "watch him skunk Red Sox batters in Game Four of the ALCS."
Now? I'm not so sure.

Is there anyone that the MFY aren't interested in?

Theres speculation that one of the conditions of his release is he wouldn't sign with an AL team. Personally, I think as bad as he had been for us it would be an upgrade for the Yankees.

I think he'd be insane to sign with an AL East club anyway. It's NL or bust for this young chap.

Unbelievable.
Mlb.com article about his performance using words like superb, excelled, dominating, he plowed gracefully through the Phillies lineup, he looked like a winner before he threw his 1st pitch, striding confidently to the mound, and he looked nothing like the pitcher who went 7-8 with a 5.61 ERA for the Red Sox. It was his longest outing since he lasted eight innings on June 25, 2007.

Why can't we get guys like that?
Oh, we can... Usually in Tampa Bay, opposing us on the mound.

He did that against the Phillies? The defending champions? Those Phillies?
Wow. Just ... wow.

Penny got another win on Monday 9/7 against the Padres. Seems he got a bit emotional during the game requiring a visit from the umpires and the manager.
Brad Penny took offense to Adrian Gonzalez's perceived actions after the San Diego first baseman belted a long sixth-inning home run to center field. Penny believed that Gonzalez stood and admired his drive a little too long. The right-hander proceeded to yell at the Padres slugger as he headed for first base and again as Gonzalez rounded third.
