But down here in Texas I don't get saturated with 24/7 Red Sox coverage, so I just found this out today.

Terry Francona was Michael Jordan's minor league manager with the Birmingham Barons in 1994.

I actually did know that, but only because someone mentioned it on a Sox broadcast the other week.


Just poking around Baseball Reference, i also see that 32 year old Terry Francons also managed 44 year old Carlton Fisk for one game in 1992 for the South Bend White Sox. Fisk went 1-2 with a walk and a 3 run HR. :)


Other than that the most widely known player he managed in the minors was 19 yr old Mike Cameron and a 21 yr old Ray Durham and 25 year old Pete Rose Jr,, some AAAA guys like Dan Pasqua and Greg Norton and im assuming vets trying a comeback like Steve Sax and Atlee Hammaker.

Well i saw or read it someplace. it might not have been a Sox broadcast. My point was that i only learned it recently myself.

It very well could have been on a Sox broadcast. I certainly can't claim to have watched every second of every game this season. I just meant that if it had been said during a broadcast, that was a bad time for me not to have been watching.

I'm on newborn-baby-no-sleep mode, and am ready at the drop of the hat to argue the color of the sky with you, but even so, we definitely did NOT have an argument.


(Wait.. am I arguing about whether we're arguing?)

when Dicek arrived it was mentioned quite a bit in spring training how Tito had the media parade with Michale Jordan so he would be able to handle the Japanese Press invasion
