What happened to the posters that left ESPN to come here? They arrived in full force a couple months ago but now theyre no where to be found.

This place wasn't lawless enough for them so they set up their own board.

Thats okay the real SOX fans are here anyway. I love being here with the regulars and welcome to the new board members. You all contribute to so much in educating me on the game and the players. I appreciate the vast wealth of baseball knowledge here. :celebrate:

I dont think they were any less RedSox fans that anyone here. I dont think they are bad people.
Ive said it half jokingly a few times but the more i think about it, the more i think its true. We were their rebound board, after getting out of an abusive relationship with ESPN's board. They were gonna come in and do things their way and no one was going to stop them. Freed from the rules that had been oppressing them at ESPN, they were like a suddenly single college co-ed, smoking pot and kissing their sorority sisters in the shower.
On our end i think we were a bit overwhelmed by the sudden influx of posting, and probably could have been a bit more patient. But in our defense, they brought with them years of relationships and cliques and inside jokes, and we werent privvy to them. Suddenly we were outsiders on our own board. AND, posters like myself, who are complete smart asses, apparently didnt make tons of friends in those first few days. In the beginning, sensing that that many of them were complete smart asses too, i let my personality loose. But them not being familiar with me, i think they took some of what i said as serious.
Then came the Game Threads. I still dont completely understand their loathing of them, but when we asked them to contain posts about a specific game to one thread, rather than making a new thread for each at bat, some of them balked. Now i think that maybe some of them were just looking for an excuse to revolt. I dont know though. It really was completely baffling to me.
In the end, what happened was probably what was best for both groups. They got their site, the way they wanted it. And we got are gay little game thread SoSH wannabe site, just the way we want it.
(Thats sarcasm for anyone lurking :) )

I still don't see how they could expect to be welcomed when they arrived like the Mongol Horde and proceeded to try to rewrite the rules as they wanted them.

I assume the over policing at the ESPN boards made them defensive, rightfully so, and assume all interaction was a threat, which it was not
I am glad they came, wish it worked out but it is what it is at this point
