per MLBtraderumors.com, if you're not from the Boston area and don't have access to WEEI or 98.5 the sports hub :)

Did I read correctly that he's hitting .210? Great.

Yep... Making it in an offensive-upgrade.

Except that Nick Green is batting .233, and A-Gon's OBP is .258.
Edit: misread Green's BA as .257, changed to .233

Of course I was only kidding.
This isn't a terrible move though because Nick Green has kind of stopped hitting and Gonzalez will probably save more runs than Green would produce.
I still see this as a platoon situation but with Gonzalez spelling Green late in games for defensive purposes as well.

I was initially excited when I heard this news, but after checking Green's and A-Gon's stats, now I'm not.

I guess if you're going to get a SS who can't hit, he might as well play decent defense.

I think the defense he brings makes a LOT of difference. I really like this acquisition. A stat I like is the F20, percentage of balls fielded that resulted in outs. Because, just because it wasn't an error doesn't mean it couldn't have been an out. Nick Green makes the out on 86% of the balls he fields, and A-Gon is at a 93% mark this season.

One hole in the lineup for another one that can field. As sad as it sounds, it's actually an upgrade. They'll have one kick ass infield when it's Lowell, Youk, Agon, and Pedy that's for sure

Youk, AGon, Pedy, and Casey isn't half bad, either.

Is it intuitively obvious to the most casual observer that Woodward is the odd man out?

I dont know if its been posted here, but the Irmo Independant News and Fishin' Report is saying this afternoon that the RedSox re-acquired Alex Gonzales.

I love it, I thought it was a mistake to have gotten rid of A-Gon to begin with, his defense more than makes up for his less than torrid offense...'course I could have been jaded by the fact that Lugo replaced him but still. I'm glad to have him back even if he's not going to light it up at the plate.
