I predict that if Tazawa has a decent outing (>= 6 innings, <= 3 runs), Clay Buchholz will all of a sudden 'get religion' and start pitching better than he has so far.
If Clay turns this around, I will I will ok I don't know yet but I will do something for I am not a fan and have not been for 2 seasons
Got to think of something I could do if he turns it around

I still think Michael Bowden is pissed that he got skipped for a guy they just signed in the off-season who's never pitched in a ML game (except that 15-inning farce).

Well, young Junichi met only one of my two criteria for decency.
98 pitches in five innings ... Daisuke Jr?

Oh and don't forget the illegal slide that took out Dustin on one of them. The dude wasn't even making an effort to tag the bag.

Is this the thread where we discuss what kind of conditioner the Sox starting pitchers use?

I was wondering the same thing about Youkilis and Pedroia.

Junichi's start did not strictly meet my definition of 'decent', but Clay turned in 7 innings with 2 runs (1 earned).
Can you say ... "Golden Boy Number Two lights a fire under Golden Boy Number One's Ass?"
I knew you could ...

Anyone want to call Buchholz' next start?

If so, and if Tazawa keeps turning in those 6IP, 3ER starts, then the back-end of this rotation (with a hopefully healthy Wakefield) will have the makings ...

Yes, Mr. Sprocket, I feel like we have the makings of a top rotation, even if it has not showed yet. Buchholz is Zach Greinke without the years of major league experience. Tazawa has the makings of your perfect junk-ball pitcher in the back of the rotation. You know, it would be nice if we had Halliday, but what we got might just work for us with Beckett and Lester anchoring the rotation.

Last week, during the Buchholz-Halliday matchup, the Jays' home radio announcers kept talking about how much Buchholz' career so far reminded them of Halliday's early years. Coming out like gangbusters, (Buchholz with his no-hitter, Halliday with a one-hitter), being sent back to the minors, returning with even better stuff, etc.
