Since a supposedly confidential list was leaked and this test was before suspensions were implemented, I voted for who cares.

but Papi said any user should be suspended for a year

now some will say he has been on suspension for the past 162 games based on play but why should he be overlooked

Clemens and Bonds, neither failed a test correct? yet we find guilt

why are we judging them different

because he is one of ours?

or because he is a personable guy?

I just do not get it

At this point I would say who care anymore but considering all the shit he talked before he got caught I think he should be banished.

I think that's what's really bugging me (bold type by me).

March 2005 he said:

"They pick me [to be tested] every time," he said. "I don't know why. I don't know if it's because I'm a big guy, or what, but all I know is all they are going to find is a lot of rice and beans."

So I guess it's more than rice and beans.

i'm in the don't care crowd. as long as roidteez comes clean and admits everything, and doesn't blame anyone else but himself, i'm okay with it. not okay with the usage of PEDs but okay that one of our guys tested positive.

By my understanding, PEDs were not against the rules of baseball in 2003. Therefore punishing Ortiz for 2003 PED use would be ludicrous. However if one shred of evidence comes out suggesting he used PEDs after they were prohibited by MLB, then a one year suspension was his own suggestion.

I never judged them at all. In fact i have posted before that this day was coming, when some significant RedSox player was outted.

I am so smart. :th_coffee:

Until we know what he tested positive for, it's pretty hard to get worked up, and even if it was full blown 'roids or HGH, I'm still not that up in arms except for the hypocrisy issue of him running his mouth. The PED era, as far as I'm concerned, goes back to Hammerin' Hank and Pete Rose. Greenies, Uppers, and Coke certainly didn't detract from the performance of guys taking them, but there was no witch hunt back then, so why do we talk about these last 10 years like somehow it's the dark ages of baseball? This has been going on for a lot longer than the HGH era, so I find it hard to get as worked up as the media about how baseball is 'ruined' by all these horrible people. Meh.

Yes they were against the rules loooong before 2003 but they can't punish anyone based on that particular test

Edit: To clarify, I mean steroids were against the rules well before 2003 but not sure about PEDs on the current list.
