Life is strange. Sometimes an opportunity arises that you're not really prepared for, but it's so once-in-a-lifetime that you can't let it pass you by.
To paraphrase somebody: "Life isn't a race to see who can arrive at the finish line in the best condition. You're supposed to hit it head-on at full throttle and when you get to the end, you come sliding in sideways with the tires smoking and yelling 'What a rush!!!'"
It's in that spirit that I introduce Halle to Sox Planet.

She's a 2002 Z06. Factory 405HP, 400 lb.ft., 6 speed, 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. A previous owner put a K&N cold air intake and a Billy Boat Bullet exhaust system on her. The guy I bought her from put a conservative estimate in the 450 range. Other than that she's stock, although she did come out of Bowling Green in a red dress. Somewhere along the way somebody thought she'd look better in black threads.
I picked her up on Friday afternoon and drove her all weekend. She's an absolute blast to drive. She'll get up and go like nobody's business or just sit down and cruise with authority. She rides smooth and her cabin is spacious and comfortable. Her steering is solid, but not bulky. Her gear positions are intuitive and crisp. Curves do not exist in her world because she straightens every road she gets on. There's a curve near my house that if I take it at 35 in my truck, I'll bite a hole in the seat. Halle took me into the curve at 50 and left it at 65 without even breaking a sweat.
I am officially in love with Halle. :wuv:

Four, but my brother Tim has three of them. He's got a '77, an '86 convertible, and a '90 ZR-1.
I think Halle will be enough for me.
Well...for now, anyway.

well Congrats she is beautiful....I personally am not a fan of the red dress on a sporty little number...attracts too much bad publicity

Z06 is probably the greatest bang for the buck car I've ever driven. An absolute animal and makes a 360 feel underpowered. For single piston calipers, those brakes are amazing and beautifully neutral handling. If you found one that hasn't started to rattle yet, more power to you, but for the kind of performance you get vs. the dollar spent, plasticy interiors aren't that bothersome.

She came with 41,200 miles on her and I put another 400 on just over the weekend. She's tight as can be. I think I heard 3PS swoon. And, yes, the brakes are phenomenal. The interior doesn't bother me in the slightest. I've been a pickup truck man all my life, so she's way more than I've ever had. Corvettes get knocked around by the expensive car enthusiasts for their Spartan trim, but as long as they perform the way they do, I'll take my Dollar Store rocket sled over anything else any day of the week. I got an incredible deal on her. Grown men have cried when I told them how much she set me back.

Why was my post in this thread deleted?
It took shots at no one, it was done in fun, and there was no reason to kill it.

It's all about point of reference. If you're used to owning trucks and buicks (NNTTAWWT), the Corvette is a nice step up and is an absolutely phenomenal performance car. When compared to the German and Italian compatriots is when people start criticizing the interiors and the fit/finish issues. That's why it gets slammed in "peer review" journals like R&T, C&D, etc, because they're doing Porsche 911 Turbo to Ferrari 360 to Lambo to Vette, and, truthfully, back to back to back, you do see the areas where GM cuts the corners to save the $, but at the same time, if you're looking at the Vette as an upgrade, then you don't notice the dropoff the same way, and you're better able to enjoy the flat out amazing performance and value of the car.

Watch it, you will be tossed in my random thoughts thread.......BANNISHED for crimes against the planet...you two do not get it...no one has been banned...but I believe some of you wish to be so it can be a badge of honor....I delete post/threads that are offensive....a picture of a deuce in a bowl is Offensive.
the issues as I see it is no one is happy any place...you have a new board..one created in March that no one joined until a couple days ago...enjoy it if that is the type pf posting you like to do
while we are very easy going, certain things were suggested and the group as a whole decided not to listen
OT threads are welcome
not all of the George Carlin's 7 dirty words are...this is a public forum
for people who gloat about self importance you spend an amazing amount of time worrying about this place...leave if you want...be my guest it is your right to do
but if you choose to stay, please realize certain posts are over the top and will not be allowed
I have deleted one post..and it was in this thread trying to cause an issue...I have merged threads that were hours old with no responses to keep the random thoughts in one place and clean up some. not once did this board over moderate yet as far as I can tell you think any comment is a direct boot to the balls.
yes the activity was nice but it was constant bitching about the espn board
sorry but that battle was won when you left....why live in the past?
an example of what locking a thread typically takes by your pal luso2kx
