That play spelled the end for Lugo. I have no doubt now that he will be DFA'd the moment Lowrie comes back.

They should work an insulting trade. Like the Sox send Lugo (contract paid for by Boston), a stack of paper cups, and a bag of sunflower seeds to the Nationals, the Nationals send Boston a box of Bic stationary pens.

They'd have to be some mighty fine sunflower seeds - and NOT used paper cups. Yet, I'd still expect the pens to be old, empty ones...

I heard a rumor that the Mets were interested, pending Reyes' condition.

Well a minor leaguer has been traded for some bats. I could see Lugo for some seeds. That would work.

This just makes me want them to pull off a demoralizing Lugo trade all the more.

Yeah, I thought when I posted that, that someone would mention it. Not making fun of the kid. I'm all about Lugo-hate.

Even if Reyes is gimpy the rest of the year I would still look into that trade depending on what they are asking. I think Reyes would do a lot better outside of the Mets organization. The Mets seem like a pretty weak clubhouse.

I read someplace (forget where now) where someone was saying they believed Reyes had reached his peak and wouldn't get any better.
I will see if I can remember where I saw that.

Yeah, I saw that too. I still think he'd do better outside of the Mets organization.
