Stealing signs is a time-honored tradition in baseball. We have, in the past, been accused of using the center field camera to steal signs and putting lights up on the scoreboard for the batter as a signal. I can't imagine there would even be enough time to do that.

Usually the runner on 2nd or the 3rd base coach steals the signs and signals the batter. That is perfectly legal.
