this is a big game.....
I would LOVE to see how SaFAThia deals with the pressure of avoiding a sweep in Fenway....
would go a long way to see how he will deal with the heat of this rivalry
Plus Francesa would be a CLASSIC listen tomorrow at 1pm

that is why Pedroia is not a leadoff hitter....
that was a very poor decision by him.
he should be going inot the game knowing that Wang is struggling.....a leadoff hitters job is to take some pitches to see what the SP has
no WAY should he have swung at the second pitch
then Wang walks a bunch of guys

Hopefully, that'll be Wakefield's last inning. He hasn't pitched all that well tonight, but compared to his other starts against the Yankees, this is a perfect game. Let him leave with some dignity.

Ugh. That was a terrible pitch.
I'm really not looking forward to potentially seeing Papelgone face the top of the order in the 9th. That's assuming that Ramirez can even hold the lead, of course.

I freaking hate Nick Swisher
The Yankees are just getting lucky, at this point. Both of those last two outs were absolutely scorched.
Either way, hopefully Okajima and/or Masterson can hold this one-run lead and Papelgone can actually do his "job" effectively for once.

Bunting is great strategy. Players should be bunting all the time. :blah:
Am I the only one who's more scared of Damon than anyone else in that lineup right now? The career numbers really don't suggest that I should feel that way, but I do. I can't explain it.
I keep flashing back to that grand slam in Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS and the numerous other seemingly effortless home runs he's hit.

He's been one of their most consistent hitters this year, so I don't think you are crazy. Of course, he already struck out, so I'm not really afraid NOW.
