Slumping Ortiz plans to get eyes checked
David Ortiz doesn't think that his seasonlong slump has anything to do with his eyes. At this point, though, he's willing to try just about anything.

Ortiz, who didn't play in Boston's 6-3 win Thursday, is hitting .187 with one home run.

"I've been thinking about getting my eyes checked," he said. "My vision has always been 20-20, and I'm not feeling anything crazy, but I'm going to get it checked out."

Also, they are looking into the possibility that his bat is haunted.

I wish it was something as simple as needing vision correction. His bat is slow. He doesn't swing with his eyes.

This will be his grac3acefull exit. They will find "something" wrong with his perfectly good eyesight and this lets them get rid of him without actually getting rid of him and lets Papi save face.
