Just finished reading this prior to logging in here.
We knew of the troubles he caused and we knew of the team's feelings toward him and finally saying ok he got to go, anytime the players approach the manager and goes ok he need to go, seasoned players and well respected players, yeah major problem there was

Great hitter! Helped bring 2 World Championships to the Sox. But for whatever reason had to play himself out of town. I'm sorry to see his bat go. I am not sorry to see the person go. But until the Sox can win again I will always wonder if he put them over the top. ???????

Doesn't sound like sour grapes at all to me. Frankly I'm glad Papelbon said what he said. It was painfully obvious to me that Manny quit on this team. I was glad to see Jason Bay come to this team. Like it or not with Manny it is what it was. The team's moved on and I'm excited about a new season of Red Sox baseball.:icon_supe
