The MFY's get a brand new stadium and we're still stuck with that "quaint" rat hole.

I love Fenway, but the time has come to build a 48K seat stadium, get more fans in to games and lower ticket costs. There's no reason a new stadium couldn't be modeled to look like Fenway. Hell, they could even throw in a few of those stupid obstructed view seats.

Back in the mid-90's, there was a plan to build a new Fenway with the exact same dimensions.
Fenway is great place when you're watching on TV or you have an expensive unobstructed seat (field boxes, Monster, suites, RF). Unfortunately, those seats are not available to the average fan without knowing someone, getting lucky or paying an exorbitant price.
The current owners have made significant improvements. But as the old saying goes, you can put lipstick on a pig, but at the end of the day, it's still a pig

actually recent reports be the architect on board with the Sox is that in 3/4 season's they will redo the lower level to help rid the building of water issues in the basement and will update the existing seats to be compliant with todays standards - this change will cost the place seats both during construction and in the grand picture but changes are coming to allow adults born after 1915 to be comfortable and face the infield. - I will search for links but if I remember correctly it was in NESN's Hot Stove show

It's not just the dimensions of the seats. It's the viewing angles. The tickets I have for a game in July are just 15 rows behind the 3rd base dugout. While I have no obstructions, I still can't see half of LF because of the absurd layout.

The current owners have already dumped too much money into Fenway. At this point, I don't see a new ballpark on the horizon any time soon.
As for the Monster seats being unobstructed: unless you're in the front row, those seats are terrible. The light towers are in the way and you can't see anything hit to the CF triangle, or anything hit down the LF line or anything to LF in general. I agree that they have made some significant improvements, but there are still way too many BAD seats at Fenway, compared to other ballparks that I have visited (Turner Field, Yankee Stadium, Tropicana Field, and Sky Dome).

Getting back on topic.
FWIW, I like Yankee Stadium. I have been there 3 times, and every time was an enjoyable experience. I went to Monument Park and it's something I'll never forget. The fans and stadium workers, in general, were nothing but class acts. Obviously there were a few a-holes, but if you're not an ass, they won't be asses in return.
If you haven't been to Yankee Stadium, I would highly recommend going. You think the LF line at Fenway is short, wait until you see the RF "porch" at Yankee Stadium. It's an absolute joke, and the wall is only about 8' high compared to Fenway's Monster being 38 something feet high.

I like Fenway but they really do need to build a new stadium. They need more seats and there should be a good view of the park for everyone.

my Cousin and his family plan their summer vacation around Baseball - they hit a game every day be it MLB or minor league and have visited every stadium opened as of 2004 - I would love to do this when my kids get a bit older and can appreciate it
