Burt Blyleven is the pitching coach. Sidney Ponson is on the pitching staff. They would be 2 noticable names for baseball fans.


But that was quite the game. How can the Dominican lose? It is a MLB All-Star team.

It seems there are 2 games today at 5:30. USA vs. Venezuela and Netherlands vs. Puerto Rico. Is the USA game on MLB Network and the Netherlands/Puerto Rico game on ESPN? That's what it looks like. Correct? If so, I'm not happy. I don't have MLB Network. :(

Dice K blanked Cuba Sunday to get a 6-0 victory for Japan in the WBC. In Pool 2 Venezuela is through to the semis. They await the winner of the elimination game between USA and Puerto Rico which is tonight (March 17). In Pool 1 Cuba eliminated Mexico last night and awaits the loser of Japan vs. Korea tonight. If Japan wins they will advance to the semis.

MLB Network should be carrying the USA vs Puerto Rico tonight.

I'm a little late here, but thanks for the rant Muse. My sentiments exactly. When ESPN carried the Puerto Rico-Venezuela game the night before, I thought it was a given we would see the USA game. It angered me even more when I woke to see the highlights of what was an incredible game. Yes, I know. MLB TV and the MLB Network are other options. I'll spare you my reasons as to why I don't have either. It was a huge game and I really thought ESPN would cover it. That's my after-the-fact mini rant.

South Korea beat Venezuela 10-2 last night in one of the WBC semi-final games. Tonight the USA plays Japan in the other semi-final game. Dice K will pitch for Japan and Roy Oswalt for the US. Game is on ESPN at 8:00. I gotta take a look at that game. :)
Winner tonight plays South Korea Monday night for the championship.

US screwed up, the japan league started spring traing january 1st so their best were available and not like Roy, having to keep pitching to get his work in for the regular season

What a great game -- watched it finally this morning!!

Definitely more pumped for opening day baseball now, for sure!!!!!

I just can't believe they left in that pitcher for that long!! There was no reason for that, IMO.
