he discussed the topic with his family and they don't want him home yet - live on WEEI he reports he is in talks with the Sox and will either sign before the season or not until after
I say sign him for a slight increase with a team option for additional year at the same money with a low Buy-out
again it is not my money

He'd be great to keep on the staff, if nothing else then to mentor the kids. The Sox pitching staff this year and next is going to continue to get younger, and I think there is definitely a spot for Schill as an anchor.

But will it be at the cost of good guy Wake next season?

Did they make any mention of how long the extension would be?
I'm glad that he want to return because the starting rotation looks really good. It would be great to have this starting rotation for at least 2 years.

Schilling posting on Sosh
Gehrig38: I wouldn't be asking for a raise to play in '08, everyone involved knows that. The Sox knew well before anyone other than my family that this decision had been made.
The well wishes are nice and appreciated.
Now let's get that Helton guy over here.....
Gehrig38:I'm sticking to '08 for now. Easiest way to handle this for them and for myself.
Oh and they knew awhile back we had made this decision.
So it looks like he is just looking for 1 more year right NOW at about the same he is making. (which is about 13 Mil)
I would do that in a heartbeat.

13 million for one year sounds good.
