Since it's a late game and I'm in the central time zone, I'll give it a go. The Sox must win this game and a sweep of the hapless Mariners is almost a must.

Rays just won and that 3rd place team from NY is killing the Twins. Lester needs to be the stopper and the Sox need to put a stop to this road game nonsense!

OH MY GOD!!!! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, JASON VARITEK HAS HIT A HOME RUN. A Homerun is a hit in which Jason hit the ball over the outfield wall and is allowed to run free around the bases, culminating with him touching home plate.

2nd HR in 42 games for Tek. Hopefully a sign of him breaking out of his funk.

Pedroia pulled one off the end of his bat that almost left the yard. Even most of his outs are good one's lately. The kid is getting better and better at the plate.

As I discuss this game with myself, Jon Lester has thrown 61 pitches through 6 innings, with only 3 hits, 5 K's and 0 walks. If the Sox manage to lose this game, be it bullpen or offensive ineptitude, then I will never start another game thread.

Lester has hurt his groin it seems. Tito visits, but Lester carries on. Will need to keep an eye on this.

Frik... now Lowrie can't quite reel in a ball that he made a diving stop on and there are 2 on with 1 out in the 7th.
