A little footnote about most ESPNers: They usually don't care if others don't know what they're talking about. The infamous "Phifer" is a classic example of that.

You also have to realize that us ESPNers are not used to having useful features like PM, so we will post something on the board that is really only of interest to one other person.

You can't post without a deletion/ban and the shticks there are so ungodly mind-numbing that I actually think it would be a GOOD thing to literally track down the creators of those shticks, drag them out to the middle of the street and shoot them.

But yet, there are regs who refuse to simply find greener pastures.

whats sad is that when you do try to find a new place to go, you find out that the new place has the same type of moronic assholes that the old place had.

we were just taken be surprise about who Carl was and played off it like we do in so many threads.

Well, the attraction used to be the regular posters. It was a very lively community. Sure, the board is ugly and has no features. But there was always plenty of good baseball conversation. Hasn't been that way in a while. I think a lot of the old guard are hoping to recapture that magic somewhere if they can't have it at ESPN. But whenever they consider going to another board, they give up quickly if it isn't as active as the old board used to be.

Maybe it would be better if they break off and make their own board somewhere rather than trying to blend in to an existing board if all they are going to talk about is the downfall of the ESPN boards.

Everyone's welcome to post. But to me, the ESPN posters that have come here seem to be stepping outside that board for a smoke and are just here to temporarily bash it before going back.

I posted on that board a bit years ago and IMO, it's always been awful. I also belong to SoSH and Royal Rooters (which I feel is the best). I don't talk about those boards here because, well... I'm not on those boards when I'm here.

And I don't even have a problem with the discussing of the ESPN board but it should be noted that the "HEY" spin-off threads were all in good fun.

But if you want this to be your "new" place, I strongly advise letting the old place go.
