It was the years. Celts didn't want to be paying a 35+ y/o 6th man over $6 million when they anticpate they'll be re-building during that time-frame (anticipating the Big 3 will likely be gone at that point).

I can't say that either party made the wrong decision. Good luck to Posey (although I don't want him winning another title). I trust that Ainge will find a replacment that works within the cap system. I want to see the Celtics prepare for the long term.

6 teams in 9 years for Posey, great role player who knows how to win and should help the Hornets make strides forward
