i was like you patti. parts of this game was too much to bare, but glad we finally pulled off the win. this win was much needed and like game 2, probably a key to the series.

I felt they really needed to win this game. The Lakers now have to win three in a row with 2 in Boston. This scenario feels so much better.

I just re-watched the 4th quarter on ESPN. The Celtics were impressive. Ray Allen saved his best for the Lakers.

The Lakers are not a very good defensive team, in my opinion. The Celtics are the superior team.

Kobe and his bunch of Hooligans are not prime time players, watching that Euro-wuss slap the bench with 2 minutes left made me happy

Gasol and Sasha really are soft players. When it was said before the series I was thinking that how soft can you be if you are in the NBA. Now I know.

think about it, Rondo 17 minutes, Perk 13
Ray Allen 48 minutes - so much for the bad ankles

They did win this game pretty much without Rajon and Perk. They are young guys who've had ups and downs during the playoffs...expected ups and downs.

Here is the beauty of what Danny did...he built an incredibly good and experienced bench. Posey and House had good seasons but look at what they've done in the playoffs. They are two money/clutch players. When it is all on the line, they play their best.

How many people questioned what the purpose of PJ was? We know now. He is a well rested experienced hungry player. When he is interviewed, you know he wants to end his career with a championship. He has even surprised himself with the jumpers he's hit.

The Celtics bench has been underrated and underappreciated all year and even into the series with the Lakers.

impressive when 2 out of 5 starters are injured and you can still make this comeback

Posey and House both looked great in their role

One of the most impressive wins I've ever witnessed. There's no question in my mind that Boston is simply the better team. The Lakers are soft, and easily frustrated, which is probably amplified by their volcanic best player.

Now that Bavetta's under investigation, I could easily see this series ending on Fathers Day. Allen's quietly having an MVP-like performance Finals.

What do you think of the Bavetta investigation? I always thought of him as one of the better refs.

Ray Allen has redeemed himself big time. I keep leaning toward co-MVPs...Pierce and Allen. It is too difficult to choose.

Bill Simmons made a case against Bavetta a few years back. It's pretty damning. I posted it on the main board a couple days ago. (http://www.patriotsplanet.com/BB/showpost.php?p=774045&postcount=39)

Is Bavetta a "company man"? I don't know. I'd like to know more about how the NBA selects its refs for playoff games first.

I just can't believe more people aren't up in arms over the whole Donaghy mess. I mean, you've got Phil Jackson out there, calling for NBA refs to be employed by an independent-of-the NBA agency. (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2008/columns/story?columnist=stein_marc&page=DonaghyStern-080611) Here's an interesting perspective on the whole thing, written by a professional NBA gambler. Excellent articles Wandering Athol. Thanks for posting them. This is serious business and David Stern has to say/do something other than the FBI investigation found Donaghy to be a rogue official.

The most amazing disparity found by the gambler who reviewed Donaghy's games is the 2003 Knicks Lakers game....a 47 to 6 disparity in free throws. How does a team overcome that?

I have always been an NBA fan but really came back to the NBA fervently last year. I almost left again last year after watching the officiating in some of the playoff games.

I did read Bill Simmons article when I was doing some research on NBA officials...I didn't look at the date when I start reading. I believe the article was from 2006 but it could have been written this year. Same issues, same problems, same no action by Stern.
