I don't know if this has been posted, but Mangini is definitely interviewing with the Jets. I would think he should have some years as a Coordinator first...here are some facts on him from Reiss:
More on Patriots defensive coordinator Eric Mangini, who will interview for the Jets head coaching job this week in the Foxborough, Mass. area:
* Turns 35 later this month; born Jan. 19, 1971
* NFL experience includes serving as a coaching assistant with the Cleveland Browns (1995), offensive assistant/quality control coach with the Baltimore Ravens (1996), defensive assistant/quality control with the New York Jets (1997-99), and defensive backs coach with the New England Patriots (2000-2004). He was promoted to defensive coordinator prior to this season.
* Has worked under head coaches Bill Belichick, Ted Marchibroda and Bill Parcells.
* Speaking at a press conference last August, he said: “I’ve been with a lot of really good teachers, a lot of really good coaches over my career, and I think I’ve learned from all of them. I’ve tried to take different things away from them. I’ve just been lucky that way with the people I’ve been surrounded by.”
* Played nose tackle and earned four letters (1989-90, 92-93) at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Grew up in Hartford, Conn.
