Okay, all you knuckle-dragging romantics...

What do you have planned for your significant other this year?

Not much this year, both kids have a Dr's appointment in the evening so our plans changed this afternoon (they are fine - check-ups only)

if I get my way I will drop the kids off and head home to prepare dinner when the wife arrives at the Dr's - we've been cooking a lot of different fish dishes so a Steak and Fish type of deal with the fixings is in order along with cards and chocolates for the kids

it took cement-headed me a few years to figure out the Wifiemo83 does not like this holiday, in a previous life she once got married on Valentine's Day so we celebrate Valentine's day the kids and Divorce day in August for us :D

I bought her a card. I haven't signed it yet and I hope that I remember to give it to her.

I also plan on giving her the gift of me. She is the luckiest woman on earth.

Seriously, I am thinking the usual flowers, and a movie at the premium theater in Framingham. The premium theater at the AMC in Framingham is expensive for a movie, but theyserve drinks and food, have leather easy chairs, and a tray to put your burger and beer on while watching the movie. It is a great place for a date.

Oh yeah, free popcorn and soda, too...neither of which I consume, but it's free if you want it.

If anyone wants to do that, make reservations, or you're SOL.

Man do I miss the preimum. Or even the Showcase in Randolph (which was our regular). It was nice to hit the premium for the extra food and such, and the lack of kids and teenagers especially. Plus, while the screen isn't huge, they have a pretty darn good sound system there. (It always amused me that none of the theaters around Boston where THX certified)

As it is, there are only 2 theaters (one 10 screen and one 16) in the town I'm in now, both of which are crappy and run by a tight ass Indian (I believe) fellow who once laid off the entire management staff of one of this theaters in Memphis (including my wife) so he could have his two nephews run the place for free. (he brought them to the states and was paying their way through school so he used them as effecive endentured servants) I'd boycott him on general principal alone if he hadn't arranged some kind of deal with Malco so that they have no presence here. As much as we tend to see movies, driving an hour into Memphis each time is not feasbile.

I ordered the wife one of those Vermont Teddy Bears, to be delivered at her office on Thursday, and I'm taking her out for dinner and dancing on Friday night.

Seriously answer:

Had bought my wife a bottle of Dom as part of her "Push Present" a few months back. Planning to pick up some take-out from our favorite Thai restauraunt, head home, crack open the Dom, and eat delicous Thai food with our most awesome 4-month old boy.

I am prolly the best wife any of you have ever heard of. To make up for losing the SB, I went out and bought Mr. OBF a new truck. We pick it up tonight! Heading out for a 3-day weekend up the Pacific Coast Highway.

Retail therapy works for Mr. Valentines too!!:icon_syda :icon_syda

Nothing, mainly 'cause a week from Friday we'll be heading to FL to go on a cruise, so I think that sort of counts. (I hope...)

This year I thought I was on top of things.

First, each year at my company a charity group sells flower packages and balloon packages, with candy, little stuffed animals and all sorts of goodies. So I ordered her three big-arse flowers PLUS a balloon package with some candy and a cute little plush doggie.

Then last week she dropped a hint that she'd like the movie Strictly Ballroom, so I ordered it from Amazon.

But then tonight we stopped at a store on the way home and I realized I never bought her a card. :icon_hang

And with how my schedule is tomorrow I won't be able to go get one without her knowing it, unless I take a longer lunch and make up the time later this week, in which case she'll know it. Otherwise I could try to sneak it in after my job interview Thursday morning, but because I'm interviewing with another branch of the company I'll be on company time - and if they find out I went shopping on company time, my a$$ is gra$$. :suicide:

Friends of ours are celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary on Valentine's Day. They're coming down from NH on Saturday and we're taking them out to Luciano's for a most excellent meal, combination anniversary and Valentine's Day celebration.

I'm safe now. I had to take my car in for some work so I tricked her into going to work early, dropped her off, and then ran to Wal-Mart before I went to the car place. Got a funny card AND a cute card, so I'm all set. :cute:

Ooh! Ooh! I just thought of something! :cute:

I was thinking, "She doesn't want--or, frankly, need--any new jewelry." But then I remembered she's got about four anklets and bracelets that are broken. So I'm going to take them to the jewelers today to get them fixed. (I'll just have to show her the receipt, since they won't have them fixed in a day...)
