So Parcells axed Trent Greene as part of his Miami massacre housecleaning. Anybody think NE will look at him as a veteran backup (after they can Cassell and keep Gut), or has his bell been permanently rung?

interesting option over either Cassel or Gutierez (sp?) as back-up
definately more fan pleasing than Cassel

he already has TV in his future, did some NFL Network crap his post season so I assume the option doesn't exist
as I said he is a more fan pleasing option because he is provn but I rather let Guteriez learn and progress while Cassel does his impression of himself while in college

He should not be allowed to play any more.

Trent needs to think about his future, it's time to retire..
In order to be any type of successful QB or backup, you need to absorb the playbook and remember it like second nature.
Unfortunately, Green's brain is oatmeal and basically can only absorb moisture at this point. He needs to save what is left and enjoy his family. Maybe can coach if he has the aptitude.

I agree. I like Trent, but he's had way too many concussions and hard hits. He needs to just walk away, while he still has his faculties about him. Do TV. Stay in the mix. Just not as a player.

But then again, BB has a proven track record handling guys with multiple concussions. I wonder if that would be an 'enticement'.

not after all the Ted Johnson stuff that has come out, If I was BB I would shy away from him

Just read a blurb in SI that the Vikings are interested in signing Green. They're welcome to him! (And speaking of the Vikes - that kid Peterson is about to make some SERIOUS noise in this league - wish he were ours!)

Thx for noticing that post, Dr. Nut. I figured at least one o youse would think buying the old man a truck for Valentine's was pretty far out. As The Real No. 81 would say: I LOVE ME SOME ME!! :icon_eyes
(Can't take off up the coast for a few more days, but from the looks of things around here, I won't be missing much . . .)

Can Trent Green even spell his name anymore? I mean his brains have been scrambled to many times.
