Might I suggest a beverage with that? The consistency is too thick. You'll be chewing until dinner.

Tea in england means two things, something you eat and something you drink
Tea is the main meal after dinner
so it goes,
Breakfast,Dinner and tea

But then what is it when I see these little afternoon teas with just some biscuits or finger sandwhiches? Doesn't look like a full meal. Is that called something other than tea?

Some of the older deep southern dialects wouldn't have lunch either. It'd be breakfast, dinner, and supper.

Think I'm going to an old standby school lunch. PB&J with some Cheese and Crackers, Doritos, and a Little Debbie brownie.
Course back in school I would have slid a few doritos into the sandwich, put the brownie on top, then spread cheese on a cracker and put that on the brownie and ate it like that.

SO I am having a frozen weight watcher dinner...sweedish meatballs and noodles...only 4 points...up to 14 pounds lost and two buckles on the belt too...I hope the lined pants I bought 7 years ago wil fit for the AFCCG (if the Pats win this week--phew almost pi$$ed off the karma gods there)...

For the record, I'm not hi-jacking the thread. I just have no idea what I want for lunch yet. I'll found out when I head to the cafeteria in our building.

Not me. I've had enough of the healthy choice and weight watchers things for a while, gotta take a break from them every now and then. Besides, with a little portion control on the doritos, it's not a bad lunch healty wise. The worst part being the little debbie brownie.

Tossing the salad usually refers to the backside. Taco on the other hand, well, think of the shape. So a taco salad.....

Tea is a drink as well as a meal,in england we just use ot to describe a drink a meal you eat.
so,i could have a drink of tea while im eating my tea..lol

So if you have some friends over in the afternoon (let's say around 3pm) and serve them tea and biscuits, what's that called? Not the drink, but the event. I always thought that was referred to as tea time or afternoon tea, or tea.

But, but, but.... all those shows I watch on BBCAmerica and PBS. They're always serving tea and sandwiches or biscuits in the early afternoon, out in the garden, while wearing nice suits and dresses.... You mean not everybody from England does that?
