Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio, in his Thursday press conference with Jacksonville reporters, was asked if he was surprised at Tom Brady’s comments about the Patriots being disrespected. “You know what, I actually understand what he's talking about because early in the year people were trying to write them off,” Del Rio said. “At one point I had to laugh. You're talking about a guy that's won three out of the last four Super Bowls having to answer questions about ... it's just the nature of the beast. It's kind of the way it is. There is so much scrutiny, so much interest, which I think is a good thing. I know we have a healthy respect for what they've done and we admire what they've been able to do. I think in many ways we paid them the ultimate compliment because there are a lot of things that they're doing that we have made a conscious effort to pattern ourselves after because I believe in some of the principles that they have used in the last five years to win championships."
