"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." ~Albert Einstein
So I ask the Mr. Francona led Red Sox a very simple question. What’s it going to be?
Are you going to step forward and prove to the rest of the sports world you can make your own Destiny?
Or
Are you going to sit back and hope a miracle comes to you?
I can’t answer that, only the collection of warriors in that club house can.
Mr. Shilling it is up to you tonight to lead you band of misfits out into battle, a battle that will no doubt be a difficult one but at the same time a very winnable one. I, as a fan, believe in the collection of players being presented to lead this charge onto the Diamond
"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." ~Thomas Edison

And finally, some southcarolina family mojo:
This morning, my 8 yr olds team was in a tough back and forth 0-0 game, late in the fourth quarter. The other team kicked the ball out for a corner kick for us. I sent my son, nicknamed "The Foot" to take the kick. He lofted a kick high over the defense, about 25 yards in the air, to his teammate who was for the very first time all season listening to what i was telling him and covering the back post. The ball came down like a laser guided smart bomb from a B52, right to the teammate, who angled his body perfectly and chested the ball out of the air and into the goal, scoring the game winner with just a minute or so left in the game.
It was truly a thing of utter beauty.
Then in the later game, my 11 yr olds team beat the previously first place team 3-0, totally dominating play for the entire game. The only allowed 2 shots on goal the entire game. This too was an hour long thing of beauty.
The bottom line is, the southcarolina family is on a roll. This is Mikiemod's thread. It is not my lot in life to be a thread starter. But i have huge mojo. HUGE. And this is but a sampling. Prepare. Win. There's no other choice. I wont allow it.

ARod isn't the only married ballplayer cavorting around town with a women who is not his wife (Kudos to the NY Post for the "Stray-Rod" headline). A very reliable source has informed SYHD that Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek was seen canoodling with America's favorite sideline reporter Erin Andrews last week at the W Hotel when the Sox were in for their series against the Yankees. Tek and Andrews were getting cozy at the bar and later were seen entering an elevator together.

Solid inning He looks like the Schill of old. Now if we can get him a few early runs, it should psych him even more.

You know, they were talking on the radio today about how Terry "Fran-coma"'s greatest weakness--stubbornly sticking with guys--is also his greatest strength, and they mentioned how badly some of the guys in '04 were doing (like Mark Belhorn) and how Francona stuck with them.
Now, having said that... do we dare see Eric Gagne tonight, LOLOL?

I think he might need to improve that to remain in MLB.
After a long 1st inning, Martinez led of with a dinger. Now, after another long inning, Martinez leads off again. Schill might have cooled off toomuc. If he gets Martinez, that should warm him up enough.

You'd be better off putting ducks out there than Gagne.
I hate when the interview the managers between innings. TV needs to stay the hell out of the dugouts until the innings are over.

They have 9 run lead. If Schilling is "cold" he can get warm on the mound. I mean if he gives up a couple of runs it's not a big deal.

Okay, maybe he won't give up any runs...

We need 6 innings from Schil tonight but frankly, I'll settle for 5.
Same as in the 2nd inning. Schilling comes in after a long Sox half inning, Martinez gets to him, and Schill gets the next 3 guys, easily. Same thing again, ion the 4th, Martinez leads of with the hit, Schill warms up and gets the next 3, easily.

Or, maybe they are trying to keep Schill warm.

Hate to disagree with Joe Buck, the mensa, but there's no way that was Schilling's last inning. 77 pitches thru 6. Excellent.
No one answered me, Who's the guy sitting with the Blonde, Selig?

LOL at Buck and some of youse throwing dirt on Schills grave.
You know how hard it is for a pitcher to get into a groove when his team is batting around on the other pitchers? Cant exactly settle into his rockin' chair now can he?
Schill could go 8 tonight and then the Sox have a fully rested pen for game 7.

What I love about Shill, is that he really has had nothing tonight - but he's getting by on experience and guts (and a 9 run lead helps too.)
I figure he's good for one more inning? Who comes in - Timlin?

There is a guy behind home plate that is very close to the dish microphone. He has one of those gadgets that helps you breath. I am sorry but they have to move him or the microphone.
Dumb question time: Lets say it rains, heavily, in Boston tomorrow and Monday.
Josh will have four days rest. So, do you pitch him in game 7 of this series, or hold him for a possible WS opener?

If they do that, I wouldnt give him more than 3 batters, and have someone up and warming the moment he steps on the rubber to face the first batter.

How many pitches has Schilling thrown? I'd try to let him go through the 8th, if possible. Then, if we still have an 8 run lead, let Gagne throw the 9th. I don't see why we wouldn't keep everyone else fresh for tomorrow.
6 outs to go, let him start the 8th.

Oh, believe me. Me too. At this point, my reasoning for even considering Gagne is because I'd love to save the BP for the possibility of needing 6 innings from them tomorrow (worst case) and I would HATE to think someone would be unavailble because they pitched tonight. As far as I'm concerned, the only guy who should be unavailable tomorrow is Curt Schilling. Let the scrubs mop it up tonight if need be.
