For five years, I have posted pre game prayers before the start of every Patriot's game. These are non denominational prayers and I invite all those that wish to take part, to do so.

I have never done one for the Red Sox, but I believe that the time for one is now..so here it is, and please join in if you choose to, but if not, please don't disrupt it. Thanks.

Dear Lord:

I am sure that you didn't expect to hear from me today, after all, it is the middle of the week and our beloved New England Patriots are not involved in a contest of great strength and cunning.

We are here, today, to ask that you look over another of our beloved teams, the Boston Red Sox, who find themselves backed up against that proverbial wall, facing elimination this evening in the Ohio city of Cleveland.

We know that you have given our players fantastic talents, and we ask that, for tonight, and perhaps for the two games following tonight's encounter, that you give them the will and the desire to take those talents and to put them to the best use possible so as to achieve maximum results.

We know that they have those abilities, as do you, for it was you alone who provided them with talent far beyond those of average men.... and lately, they have fallen into a quagmire and those talents have not been released.

Tonight, we ask that you watch over them, and provide them with what they need to emerge as victors. But, it is they themselves that must accomplish it.

They can only accomplish that with their own desire to do so, by using those talents, and abilities, that you have provided.

And, as always, we ask that you watch over them, as well as their adversaries, the Cleveland Indians, and protect them all from serious injury, as well as all those in attendance at tonight's contest, and that they all arrive at their abode in a safe and sound manner when the contest has been concluded.

And as it always is, we ask this of you, and it is in your name that we say.......AMEN.

We are getting close to game time. Are you willing to leave the outcome to pure chance?

Yeah I know. That's what I thought but those damned hicks out here in Phoenix had it on the sports news this morning that there was a game, and I thought there wasnt but I thought I was wrong and they were right, but I should have known better.

Anyway, this saves me from writing it tomorrow.
