Why would they be doing that? Cinderella story, incredible streak to finish the season, 2 sweeps (most likely). This is good press no matter how you slice it. And I doubt ratings would really suffer because of it.

A Cubs vs. ( Anybody ) World Series would have been a network darling but the Cubs were the weakest of the 4 NL teams in the post-season. But frankly, I don't think the Phillies, D-Backs or Rockies really excite too great a national audience.

The one angle that can be played up regarding Colorado is the 20 of 21 winning streak. It is the ultimate David vs. Goliath underdog story and you'd better believe they'll beat that horse to death no matter who they play in the Series. What the network needs to hope for once it begins is that they don't end up getting swept. But I believe folks will tune in at the beginning of the Series.

Hopefully the networks will get a series that plays as David vs. Goliath, as opposed to David vs. the team that hasn't won since 1948.
