Hey folks, this is my first time posting here apart from the PatriotsPlanet temp forums. Was wondering if you base-ball fans had any comment on the fact that there are still thousands of tickest available to the first two games of the NLCS in Arizona. As of this morning you could buy them online for nine bucks.
I mean, can you imagine tix for a Red Sox ALCS game not selling out?

What's up TB? Be sure to hang out during the ALCS if you've got time.
I think it's INSANE that Game 1 has not sold out in Phoenix. Do I expect that market to have a substantial sold-out streak in their park? No, of course not. But it's not like the D-Backs have been a doormat of a franchise in their brief existence. This is the 4th time they've been in the playoffs and have a WS title under their belt. This is embarassing.
This is also the same reason I could never get myself to cheer for any of those great Braves teams beyond the 1991 season. There is no excuse for any franchise in any of the 4 major pro sports leagues not to sell out a playoff game. Pathetic.

I would go to Arizona for a Sox/D-Backs World Series. My brother could probably get tickets - he lives out there. I'd just book a cheap flight.

If the Sox makes the World Series against either of these teams, every game maybe a home game, because the Red Sox Nation will show up in full force. :)
The fans here, in Arizona, are the worst sports fans I have ever encountered. They know very little about the intricasies (sp)of the games. They arrive late, leave early, and are more concerned with being seen at a sporting event than watching, or understanding the game.
They need special promotions and activites, games, etc. between every half inning to keep them occupied.
You cant stand up in front of them and cheer like real fans or they yell at the usher to have you removed.
You are not allowed to walk down the aisles to your seat after getting refreshments until the inning has ended so you dont get in the way of others...and all the while your hot dog gets cold or your ice cream melts.
Fans here need something extra to tell them when to cheer, like a gorilla at suns games, or messages on the giant screens..and then, then they only cheer quietly...
Sports fans in Phoenix are ignorant about the games, have no knowledge of rules and about the play on the field, court or ice...
They really dont deserve the teams that they have.
They think that because they have
teams in all four major leagues, baseball, football, hockey and basketball, that it makes them a majaor league town...well, believe me, this one horse town is bush league from beginning to end, and I have been here now, over 19 years.
They only reason they had decent crowds at the NLDS games with the Cubs was because half of the people in the ball park were Cubs fans, much like lRed Sox fans when they played here in the summer.
This is a piss poor sports town as far as fans go.
BTW, the rockies SOLD OUT ALL GAMES in minutes.

Give your brother my email address. I will fill him in on our New England Patriots Fan Club Of Arizona.

Word was that it would be cheaper for a guy in Denver to buy an airplane ticket to Phoenix and buy a ticket to the game there (at face value) than to buy a ticket to one of the games in Denver from a scalper. That's insane.

Actually, it comes from this: http://www.theonion.com/content/node/37288
To me it just seems appropriate to include the hyphen. Zweibel thinks he is still living in 1910s, and MLB tries to keep everything the way it was back then. So I call it base-ball.
