I hope Emperor Papeltine pulls the trigger this year.

If they let him go I hope he ends up Tito's bench coach just to PO the yankee fans

Why would Torre want to piss of the fans? They've treated him like a god for 15 years, and he had to know that eventually he'd get fired. No one walks away from the Spanks.

no he signs here like Zim did in NY to aid Tito
the pissing off the fans is for my enjoyment not Torre's

There's no way Torre comes to Boston. Brad Mills is best friends with Tito since college so I don't think that he's going anywhere. The only way I see Torre coming to Boston is as a scout or front office type.
He'll get picked up by somebody. Cardinals? Seattle? Who know's? But one thing's for sure, he hasn't managed his last game in the majors...

He may have managed his last game in the majors. But if he has, it will be his choice. I'm sure he can get a job if he wants one. He may just decide to relax and become a spectator. He is 67 years old (and looks much older than that). He certainly doesn't need the money.

I like Joe, Hated his team but loved how he handled all the BS and still came out classy

Yeah, me too. I hate the team but I like Torre, Cano, and Jorge. I liked Bernie Williams too.
I think that he has put up with enough BS not just from the NY media but from his boss that he is just going to say F it. But, if he wants to stay, maybe we see him on the Cards if LaRussa leaves :shrug_n: he wouldn't have to deal with all the distractions.

It's hard to think of anyone not liking Torre - definitely a class act. I'd kind of like to see him in the booth doing color commentary.

He might have interesting things to say, but I think he'd put you right to sleep saying them

You're probably right, though ANYTHING is better than listening to Chris Berman yell, "back back back back back back back back back back..."

No Joe Torre on the Sox!!! In any capacity. I don't know the man and have no idea what kind of person he is. He had his moment in the sun. His time is past. I don't want the Torre of today who can't win the big one, burns out pitchers and lives on past accomplishments.

I hope he writes a book. I'm sure that would be a very very interesting read.
