As the saying goes. We wanted to win the division. We won the division. We wanted to get homefield. We got the homefield. Yeah, I think we're in a better position to make it to the World Series than most teams in the AL East, but I can't help to wonder about the Yankees easy series they're going to have against the Indians. Think the Indians are going to beat the Yankees? You kidding me? Sabathia, is what 1 and 7 against them, and what this? The Yankees swept them in the season series this year. I mean yeah, I think we have a chance to go to the ALCS, but it's going to be against the dreaded Yankees. I hate them. I hope Cleveland can find a way to beat them, but I highly doubt it. I think the Angels would have had a better chance against them. Would have been better if the Spankees had to fly out west.

Funny how the people of RSN can ALWAYS find negativity even in the best of situations. Best record, home field advantage throughout, everybody important healthy going in ...

All I care about right now is Red Sox vs. Angels and the Sox making it to the ALCS, which I assume and have assumed since March 1st would be vs. the Yankees.

And personally, I think that the Tribe have an alright chance of beating the Yankees, at least as much as any other AL team minus the Red Sox.

Be careful what you ask for? They call it home field advantage for a reason.

Bases Loaded. Two outs. First Inning. Thirty Pitches. Two run single. Kenny Lofton. 3-1. Lets go Indians.

There are no easy series. Cleveland will line up and play their best. Who knows what will happen!

I remember this kind of sentiment was widespread in '04 and look what happened then. I don't know about anyone else, but I like the drama of the game. Winning is good, and I will never complain about it. But winning in the manner of that 04 season was a special treat, and it will live on in history like few others. During that season, I was rooting very hard to have a Sox Yanks ALCS, because, win or lose, I wanted a shot at felling the giant on the way to glory - and when it happened, it just meant so much more for it. Maybe the Yanks were a tougher matchup, but the risk was worth the reward.

This season, however I don't care so much. What would make me happy is seeing the Yanks swept by the Injuns (game 1 is pretty much on the bag already :D ). However, either matchup will be tough, no matter who we end up facing (if we get past the Angels - which I have faith we will).

But the final word is really that we have no control whatsoever over who the next opponent is (only whether there will be one at all), so I think it would be best not to psych ourselves out ahead of time.

Well said. And I concur.

I want the Injuns/spankees to go 5 so both CC and Carmona pitch twice leaving Bird ats the game one starter if we make the next round

That's the pragmatic approach. But my heart wants to see the Yanks buried in quick, humiliating fashion.

Yankees suck. Bring them on. :)

I don't think the Indians are slouches by any stretch. It would be a tough series no matter who we play. I wouldn't mind playing the Yankees though. It will be a lot more painful for their fans if we are the ones that knock them out. And I take pleasure in their pain.

Thank you but I don't care about stats. I just try to make a play or 2 to help our team win. :thumb:

No, be more painful for their fans if the Tribe gives them the bum's rush. Hubris dictates that they were calling for the sweep. Now that their 'ace'...I'm sorry..BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!...has gotten his ass handed to him, they calling for a win in 4 with Wujjah...I'm sorry...BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!...turning the tide on Sunday. From what I've seen, the prevailing prediction is 8 innings, 0 er on 2 hits...in other words, something he hasn't done for a couple years now.

I still would rather play the tribe, I mean they got a lot of inexperience and thats not a good thing to have. I'm not saying I'm scared of the Sox playing the Yankees but they would be the tougher series.

And Yankees losing first round is awesome.

hope the yankees lose today. the tribe surprised me how well they've been playing. good for them, but they're going to be tough.
