Is ESPN trying to look like even bigger morons? WTF is with this crap?

How did this POS suddenly become the focal point on CIVIL RIGHTS?!?!?

I really hate to say this, but when I was down in Fla, it seemed everything that involved anyone of the "minority" race, it either turned into a racist issue, or civil rights.. complete nonsense. People need to see what is actually going on here.. its not about black or white, or civil rights.. its about people who abused, and killed dogs.. its about breaking the law, its about lying to the feds. This has nothing to do with civil rights..

Word! It's like the militant gay community comparing their gay marriage agenda to the civil rights movement.

If Vick played for, oh, I don't know, the Denver Broncos (Denver being a city with little to no racial dust-ups in its past) would there be this much of an outcry? If Matt Schaub (the former back-up to Vick, who is white) was the starting QB and was indicted on the same charges, would there be a similar reaction?

True, we should let the gears of the justice system turn before we condemn the guy...but this has nothing to do with race.

The NCAA jumped on board and declared it a civil rights issue. Jesse Jackson and AL Sharpton will follow at some point.

Exactly what did you all expect?

Ugh. Ridiculous. I guess laws don't apply to minorities - or at least they shouldn't be prosecuted if there is evidence that they broke the law.

what is happening

but

I wish it would just be did he or didn't he and race has nothing to do with it... to bad racism exist but it does and it is a two way street.

I have mentiond on the other place my Dad is pretty bad, thank god my mom wasn't the least bit that I was able to avoid his influences

Yeah, I saw this too. Like I mentioned in that other thread KG started awhile back, ESPN.com seems to have made their site into a forum for this sort of thing. If that's their deal, fine, whatever. I only go there anymore to read Simmons. SI.com is MUCH better for sports news, despite a few retards (Michael Silver, anyone?)

It's all about the drive by media folks. I kid you not I think that some media conglomerate sits around all day monitoring these kinds of stories hoping that someone will mention race being a factor or waiting to pull the race card if some other media conglomerate does not. For once in my life, I would like to see someone use MLK's words when he said "don't judge me by the color of my skin but by the content of my character" as a rule of thumb when doing these type of stories. This has been getting old for years and it's still old trying to use race as a factor for every wrong that a celebrity minority does in this country.
