View Full Version : Gamethread conundrum

As some of you may be aware, I Have Huge Mojo.
The "SC Just Got Home" mojo. (Which by the way, apparently also works when i leave the house. Yesterday i swear to all things pasta that i watched the first pitch of Manny's at bat, turned off the tv, went outside got in the truck and tuned to ESPN radio just in time to hear that little Doodling Doodloo sound and the guy says "And Manny just went deep in Seattle") F'ing spooky.
The "Random GIS for the batters nickname" mojo. One can never post too many pics of cucumbers.
The "Coco pic" mojo. Blond hair, big boobs, and married to Ice T. So you KNOW she does it in the butt. I take personal credit for turning our Coco around.
The "Dont use anyones name" mojo. Because im a fan of Next Guy, and Last Guy is coming around.
The no punctuation mojo Because sometimes you just gotta
the no punctuation and no capitals mojo for when you gotta dig a little deeper
thenopunctuationandnocapitalsandnospacesmojoonlyfo rthetrulydesparate
So anyway, I Have Huge Mojo.
Which brings up this, which has been weighing heavily on my mind all night. I worked nights this weekend. I wasnt able to watch any of the games. I did however post in Friday nights gamethread.
The RedSox promptly went out and lost that game. I guess we all know how the RedSox feel about shift workers now
Saturday and Sunday, i was busy, i didnt have time, the sun got in my eyes, whatever the reason it doesnt matter but i didnt post in the gamethreads. The RedSox won both those games.
Are you starting to see the pattern? Is this mere coincidense? Or is perhaps my current mojo the mojo of silence? Could i have inadvertantly stumbled upon the Holy Grail of mojo, the path down which the RedSox will never lose again? Have all my mojoistic chakras aligned at this very moment all throbbing and pulsating with supercosmic energy just waiting for release? And is that release in the form of a vow of gamethread silence from me? Could i possibly be right now the most mojotastic being in the universe?
Dont get me wrong, i would miss the banter, but i'd do it in a second, if it would propel the Sox down that Yellow Brick Road to the World Series. But would mojo be so cruel? Would mojo require this greatest of sacrifices of me? Would mojo, after all our dabblings this season, cut me off cold turkey like i was K-Fed getting caught with strippers for the eleventh time? Just when i was getting comfortable enough with out relationship to ask it to do that thing we saw on that movie we watched together? That "adult" movie?
I am petrified. I shudder even to post this thread, for fear it may brush up against the next gamethread, and somehow "rub off" on it. (Ok i promise no more K-Fed/Stripper jokes.) I somehow feel that the decision i make before the next gamethread could affect every living being in RedSox Nation. Its a bit daunting. I need some help.
Friends, fellow fans, brethren of the first order of the round table of SoxPlanet, i beseech thee...help me to make sense of this most tangled web of fate, destiny and mojo.
What sayest thee?

I feel the same way and have been holding out at times from posting in the threads for this reason
maybe an anti game thread thread about all things not baseball
maybe we can start a football thread in a baseball fan site and see what happens
or better yet you can ignore my babblings as those from an over-tired poster

Holding out isnt healthy. You can get backed up and it causes all sorts of internal issues.
maybe an anti game thread thread about all things not baseball
Maybe...but it still seems risky....
And all things not baseball might get a bit unweildy. Maybe just a few things not baseball.
maybe we can start a football thread in a baseball fan site and see what happens
And incur the wrath of the anti-soccer zealots? No thank you.
or better yet you can ignore my babblings as those from an over-tired poster
I too am tired. I have been awake since 4 pm yesterday. How about you?

I promise i wont take the blame myself if this doesnt work out. I'll take you all down with me.
Crap im sorry...that was some random thought left over from work. Night shifts suck.

The more the merrier I always say!! I have been witness to the majesty that is the "I just got home" mojo and it is scary yet exhilarating!! It is a long season and I think that there is room for all of the various SC mojo's so I vote that you stay involved in the game thread as your powers are ever expanding and multi-faceted. You are the Troy Brown of the game thread. A multi-tasker of immense proportions!!! Come forth and bless the Sox with the majesty that is the SC MOJO!!!!

How about a little "No-peek" mojo....you can sit in front of the TV with your hands over your eyes and just sneak a peak on the replays...seems to solve your problem.....

And again, the RedSox rule the day with no SC in the Gamethread. Maybe i should go watch preseason football for a couple of weeks while the Sox win 15 straight to wrap things up :(

I dont usually bump old threads, especially my own, but i seem to have stumbled into the "southcarolina has to work and not post in the gamethread" mojo thing again. They keep winning, i cant post. Its as simple as that. So i bumped this thread so i would have someplace to post stuff.
