Johnny Damon (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/3189) looked at the lineup posted on the door to the Yankees (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/42)' clubhouse Wednesday afternoon. His name wasn't on it. Rookie Shelley Duncan's was, in the designated hitter spot. Damon wasn't happy he wasn't playing and he wasn't happy Joe Torre didn't give him a heads-up. He knows it's only going to get worse when Jason Giambi (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/3173) comes back, maybe in a week. He said maybe the Yankees (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/42) should trade him if they're not going to play him every day now that he's feeling healthy. "As a player, you always want to know what your role is and what's happening," Damon said. "If I'm still out there on the margin, especially with Jason coming back . . . Anything's possible. I know a lot of teams are interested. With Jason coming back and a number of outfielders going down, the Yankees (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/42) could probably get a better player now than what they probably got offered July 31."

Just as an aside, that god damned Shelly Duncan has hit 5 HRs in his first 8 career games. Thats sick. A power hitter who has time to play the mom on the Brady Bunch. Kudos to Ms Duncan.

I don't feel bad for him. He made his decision and went for the money. I still think the Sox were right.

Hey Johnny!

Your right.. the Spankees did make the competative offer, and the Sox didnt show the same respect!...LOL...my 10 year old nephew can throw further then you can...HA!

Whaddaya know, "respect" can actually be had in non-monetary form!

What made Damon mad is that he was replaced at DH. He already knows that there's lots of people named Shelly who can throw better than him.
