This has to be one of the most enfuriating offenses in recent times. Each night, we get 10 or more hits and, each night, we're lucky to get 3 runs from those 10 or more hits! I had already predicted it last night after the 1st inning. THAT'S HOW PREDICTABLE THIS OFFENSE HAS BECOME!

And where's Tito to mix things up? Where's Theo with the deal?(and if you think they don't need to make a deal, you're delusional)

And I don't want to hear 1 friggin word of "Well, we're 7 games up...". That type of conformist attitude will allow us to lose that lead too.

Its not the "7 games up" that makes me nervous, its the 10 games up, 9 games up, now 8 games up, nope now 7 games up. sickening

Watching the Red Sox lately is pretty much on par with watching your most favorite past girlfriend make out with another dude. Completely awkward and uncomfortable.

LOL!!!! Great analogy! :icon_supe

I think the Red Sox have turned into the Oakland A's. Decent/Good pitching. OBP/OPS machine. Solid defense. No offense.

Now, I know if Manny and Ortiz started to hit the long ball we wouldn't be saying how they can't score runs. Then again, why can't the Sox find a decent #5 hitter. We have close to the worst production out of the #5 guy this year.

They need a bat at the trading deadline. If that means someone like Drew or Coco or someone else needs to sit, so be it. This team has a chance to go deep into the playoffs. They have the starting pitching, defense, and bullpen...all they need to do is get the offense going.

We're 1st in the majors in OBP and 5th(and falling) in runs scored.

We're irony squared right now.

I think what separates us now from the yankees is simple... when i'm checking scores and see the yankees down by 1 or 2 in the 7th or 8th, i say to myself... damn thats not enough and they've been winning. When i see we are down by 1 or 2, i think damn, not enough to throw in paps to save the day. thats depressing.

Youks in the 5 hole is an unmitigated disaster. Why wouldn't they give Lowell a chance? Can it be any worse?

We're irony squared right now.equally ironic -- at least to me at this point -- is watching JD Screw-it's listless, hitless, legless oh-well un-performing attitude VS. Kevin Youkillus-while-bustin'-ass tryin'-and-failing-pissed-off-at-himself non-performance streak he's got goin'

really bad JuJu going on here

Well JD is out with a broken nail or something. And Youks IMO is out of position batting 5th. They should move him up to 2.

And, "The Captain" has struck out in an awful lot of key situations, too.

Yankees pitcher Pettite has 5 or 6 no decisions after letting up 2 or fewer runs - this is not Sox exclusive guys... as george michaels sang "you got to have faith"

God bless R. Lee Ermey :)

That would be ol' Georgie Porgie...Although, I wouldn't be shocked to hear about Pettite getting busted in a bathroom stall either. :D

Since I'm such a nice guy, I'll let you guys borrow my Pirates slogan: We Will: strand runners on base.

(The Pirates have this retarded marketing slogan that just says "We Will". Nothing else. Not "We Will Win" or "We Will Make the Playoffs", just "We Will". So the fans kind of get to fill in the blank. Obviously, considering the state of the team, you can imagine what sorts of ways we choose to fill in that blank.)
