View Full Version : Not ready to take the gas pipe, yet...
The Sox are STILL 7 games in the lead.
And, I, like all of you, are beginning to get very frustrated, no, not lfrustrated, totally pissed, at the way things are going right now.
However, lets remember that every team goes through a major bump in the road. This is ours. The Yankees had theirs, earlier.
So, the lead is still 7, and that is a significant lead.
We have a couple of top pitchers ready to go in the next few games, and if the offense can get their heads out of their asses, at home, they can right the ship fairly quickly.
So, its still a 7 game lead.... not panic time yet....
I dont believe that this will continue much longer.
Of course, Tavarez and Wakefield need to be removed from the rotation.
Schilling , hopefully, can come back to his old self, and it is time now, for Paps to get into the rotation.
Francona, too. needs to take his stubborn head out of his stubborn ass.

20-22 since June 1st. This was supposed to be the soft part of the schedule Post ASB and they are 3-4. They just lost a series to the freakin Kansas City Royals!! The Yanks are in it now! Thank you Red Sox!! Sorry but this is all too familiar ground!

Francona, too. needs to take his stubborn head out of his stubborn ass.Careful. There are people on this board who are part of Tito's PR team and will blame everything EXCEPT Francona for these losses.

No, right now i believe this is a total team effort.... they all need to get their heads out of their asses and start playing like the number one team they all think they are!!! :icon_axe:

I really can't complain about Tito. He's done a good job this year.
The reason for the Sox swoon is twofold. On the nights they score runs in bunches, they're pitching sucks (like last night). On nights they get great pitching, they can't score runs against the other team.
I'd like to see them pick up a bat at the trading deadline. Who and how they get them, I don't know. Like Eck and Carron said last night on the pre-game, that's why the guys in the front office are making the big bucks. (Did I mention that Eck is a kick-ass commentator?)

This team has beyond frustrated now. Another night another dissapointing loss. The team looks like they're going through the motions out there. Of course it's tough to say it's time to panic when you're up 7 games but I'm starting to worry. This team is squandering a good chance to grab some W's on what looked like a pretty easy homestand. The thing that really got me mad tonight was Pedroia (he played a good game) popping up on a 3-0 pitch to end the game. They needed to 2 runs and Ortiz was on deck, why does he have the green light there. I don't know, this team has me worried and I guess I needed to vent a little.
Makes no sense, down 2 with 2 outs, bottom of the ninth, and swinging at 3-0. Even if he puts it out, still down by one.
Only thing I can imagine is that he lost track of the count. Makes no sense.

Red just blew out White.
The "pathetic" Royals just whipped the crap out of the now-MLB-leading Detroit Tigers.
Yankmes just took one up the cornhole from Toronto.
Lead's back up to 8.
Everyone off the Tobin, now, okay?

Everyone off the Tobin, now, okay? It's not panic it's concern. And last night was ONE game. The trend has not been good. If indeed they are turning it around....GREAT!!! But I will remain cautiously optimistic until I see what happens over the next couple of weeks. Still have to see if Tavarez will pitch out of his funk!! Because Francona said last night he is NOT replacing him in the starting rotation!! Dice K needs to find his consistency again. And well Wakefield is Wakefield I don't know what to say about Jekyll and Hyde, except I hope we see more Jekyll than Hyde!
Ortiz just hurt his shoulder and I hope he is OK! Drew is made of eggshells. But Crisp and Lugo have been solid. Pedroia fantastic. The bullpen seems to be getting stronger!
It is still mostly good. But I don't like seeing the lead shrink!! Sox need to keep the pressure on the MFY's!!! Their AL East run needs to end THIS YEAR!!! :D
