I had no idea Cy Young was pitching for the Blue Jays today. Is this guy even over 50 pitches?

Seem like every pitcher the Sox face lately look like Cy.

What inning is the game in?

This team is incapable of coming back from any deficit.... I think this might be something to worry about... That Mother's day game aside, they have shown very little late in games when they are down. They were lucky in that game too, that Lugo hit should have been an out but whatever they still won

Every game they lose these days seem to be by 1 run.... Very Very Frustrating.

Bottom of the 9th inning.

Sox have 11 hits, only 1 run. Very frustrating game. BTW, the Sox have been lousy in 1 run games lately. They have lost something like 7 of their last 8 in that dept.

The game is definitely not over, but the way the offense is going today, it's not looking good.

I am worried about this offense in clutch situations... They curl up in the fetal position and can't do anything.. The have very tiny balls and it is pretty pathetic..

This one goes on the shoulders of "Skipper Alan" Hale at 3B.

There are a few cardinal rules of Red Sox baseball.

#1: Don't question Schilling's ability to research hitters.
#2: Don't expect important hits from Crisp, Lugo, or Drew.
#3: Don't pay attention to what Manny says.
#4: DO NOT EVER WAVE DAVID ORTIZ AROUND THIRD!!!

I mean, the freakin' guy already looks like Fat Albert and is slower than the Southeast Expressway at 5:00pm on a Friday. And he's got a bum knee to boot. So what does Hale do? "Wave 'em in!"

And so the hated Yankmes crawl back into single digits (even though the Devil Rays got 16 hits, they lost... I mean, it's the freakin' Devil Rays, after all...).

I have to agree that it has become very frustrating watching this team lose these 1 run games. There is far too much offensive potential for them to be stymied like this in so many games of late.

Sure, it's nice to have a 9 or 10 game lead with only less than half a season to go, but as Sox fans, we all know what we have seen in the past.

Overall the pitching hasnt been that bad, but not stellar, either, as it was when they built that 10-12 game lead.

It's nice not having to look up, but things can change in a matter of days.

Games in which the top three starters pitch well enough to win, as Beckett did today, those are games that they should not lose.

Come September, we dont want to look back on dates like July 15th and say, woulda, coulda, shoulda.

Especially when you're playing at home.

Sox need to step it up! Whatever funk they have been in since June 1 will only serve to actually create a race in the AL East where none exists!!! Pitching even with the woes of Wakes and El Loco is pretty damn good. The bats especially with men on base and in clutch situations (where are you David Ortiz?) leaves a lot to be desired.

One of the things they need to do is to lay off of first pitches, and take a few more till you get the right one. Manny, for example, is a notorious first pitch hitter.

I never was a first pitch hitter in any baseball, or softball , that I played.

Sure, it can get you in an 0-1 hole, but I have always been of the belief that you are just not, psychologically, ready for the first pitch, or hungry, as you would be later in the count, and you wait on , as they say, "Your Pitch."

Just my opinion.
