I've been sick the last couple of days. I woke up from a nap right at 7:00. To my credit, the first thing I did was rush to the computer and created the game thread.
Yeah, great weather outside and I'm bed-ridden. I'll probably be healthy all winter...

Well...as they say in Boston game ova...:icon_hang
Schilling Schucked! 6-1 Braves...Why do we have to play the Braves every year? And don't give me any of that "natural rival" crap!
Good think Theo didn't give Schilll the $13 million. Dodged a bullet there. I think that the Sox will resign him but at $7 million. No way Curt is worth $13 mil...

What do Lugo's average and Johnny Cash have in common?
They're going down, down, down in a burning ring of fire.
Why didn't we keep Orlando?

All I can say is thank goodness Theo waited before extending Schilling. He sucks and ain't worth another 13 million!! He hasn't done much else right but at least that looks to be a smart move!

Dear Curt Maybe in your blog tonight you can apologize to all the fans of the Nation for pretending to be a major league pitcher! You suck!!!! What a great way to start the road trip. Covelli busts out in a meaningless loss. Good timing!

The guy almost pitched a no-no two outings ago. He'll be ok.

So do you think Schill is saving some gas for the pennant race and (hopefully) the post-season? It's a possibility...

...or maybe he's just getting older and creakier, and waking up on the wrong side of the bed affects his performance more than it did 5-10 years ago.

No i think he is still feeling the effects of overextending himself two starts ago. The absolute worst thing that could have happened to him was having that no hitter going. Francona couldnt take him out, but everyone knows that Schilling isnt a 9 inning pitcher anymore. He looked dead from the very first pitch last night.

100 PITCHES TOTAL IN 9 INNINGS!!! (dam cap lock)
I do not think that was what over did it, I think based on the hype of the no hitter shilling went a little harder and has Dead arm, needs to miss 2-3 starts and return as a 6-7 inning pitcher no matter what

Yeah, Jon Lester is just about ready to come up...(If he were on another team, he would be already) and with Tavarez pitching well, I could see Schilling going on the DL with a tired arm to make room for Lester.
Last night they said Schilling has given up the most hits in the AL and second most in the Majors.
