Sox Planet Board [AP] - Sox Planet Front Office purchases contract of luso2kx from ESPN Message Board in hopes to see the Sox start winning once again.

Christ! Lose in extra innings in the 1st game and then get schooled by a lefty junkballer (back to the old days there). Now we face ANOTHER junkball lefty with a severly slumping Wakefield tonight.

Screw it! Time for the Azorean Assassin to start a game thread to see if we can get the mojo back!

now no disrespect to oldskool but I can't handle watching Wake -- even when he gets in one of those groove-run things and rattles off 7- 8 good games in a row -- I keep waiting for the wheels to fly off

trying to find a Mojo Chick for him is like wondering why I am still limp after looking at Hillary Clinton cheesecake photos -- how do you find a knuckleball-mojo chick anyway?

He is in a down slide right now. Hope the winds are right in Oakland tonight. It would be nice to see a solid performance from him.

Is it possible that nobody on the Red Sox will ever get a hit again.... EXCEPT FOR WILY MO PENA?? Boys are we in fukken hell or what? What is going on with this offense?

<optimism>I'm sure that tonight's the night they'll finally break out of this dreadful sleep walking offensive mode. </optimism>

I really would like to know what the fug happened on the plane ride over to Oakland on sunday night. Did they have a lay over in Kansas City and switch teams? This just seems like a dead ass team right now...

on cue... another DP.... Wow I think I should go to bed

If the Sox lose this one, I don't think we can blame it on Wake at all. 6-2/3 innings, 7 hits, 2 BB, 8 SO and only 3 earned. Same situation as last night. Sox pitchers doing their job. Sox hitters - not so much.

Another awful offensive performance.... just plain bad. A minor league pitcher (Santiago Casilla) that can't even decide what his name is just made Manny, Youk, Lowell and Varitek look bad. Might be a good idea to simply forfeit Thursday's game, get some rest and head down to Arizona to face another red hot team. Oy vey - lost 4 straight and 6 of our last 7.

I can't beleive I stayed up for this fuggen game... What a waste... That Arod HR in the 9th on sunday could be the turning point for both teams. I didn't think much of it at the time but this team has looked awful since and the Yanks have taken 2 out of 3

They got shut down the last 2 nights by below average pitching which is the most frustrating thing about this
Lenny Dinardo and a Ex Devil Ray cast off who is 1-4. The Bullpen has ALLEN FUGGEN EMBREE CLOSING... That is a Joke in and of itself. Good work Offense. Get it fuggen together you asshats

I know it is the offenses fault. I have been frustrated with wake for a little while now. I love him and all he has done here. He just kind of handcuffs this team in a lot of cases. That Dougie trade last year is truely a awful trade.

I am just getting kind of sick of wondering if the Knuckler is going to knunkle.

Deal Tavarez, Wakefield and Mirabelli for whatever prospects you can get, call up Kottaras (an ACTUAL catcher who can actually catch and hit) and Gabbard, move Papelbon to the Rotation, assign the "closer" role to Okajima, Donnelly and Snyder (use each in specific scenarios.)

Tavarez, Wake and Belli are not (repeat: NOT) the problem with this team right now. It's grounding into double plays, not driving the ball with men on base and loading the bases and not capitalizing. The pitching for the Sox in Oakland has been great.

It's the complete lack of production from the lead-off hitter, number 5 spot and wherever Coco is batting...I think we all know the three players that I'm talking about. If we trade anybody it should be Coco (who I feel is playing his last season in a Sox uniform) and/or Wily Mo. Call up Murphy and/or Elsbury. They can't do as bad as Coco or Wily.

two options
- make a trade so you can bring up Murphy and Elsbury. don't give me this "you'll rush them" crap either. the idea is to play them not sit on the bench so by putting Elsbury in CF and hitting 9th are you hurting the team by not having Crisp?

- find a CF right now, try to keep Crisp and use him in the Dave Roberts role off the bench to run and play D.

I've seen Murphy play in Pawtucket. The kid is just as fast as Coco...I'm no scout but take my word for it.

Coco would be a great fourth outfielder. He can bunt, move runners along, get sac-flies and steal (and on top of that he's a switch hitter). Now that 'Droia has "blossomed" I say, bring up Murphy or Elsbury and trade Wily Mo (in a package with BP Romero).

The FO and Tito have shown that they're not afraid to play rookies this year. Give some of the outfield prospects a chance.

EDIT: I don't know what the heck they're going to do with Drew. His contract is too heavy to move.

BP Romero is being looked at by the Tigers who need a lefty in the pen, they don't need Wily Mo but I agee trade him so he can develop and resign him in 3 years

Yeah, this is definitely not about pitching - Dice-K pitched great, Wakefield pitched well enough to win (quality start!) and we really haven't been giving Tavarez enough credit this season. He really has been doing as much and more than could be expected. He's been putting us in a position to win more often than not.

- Coco is a bust. Sorry, but that's official now (despite the GG caliber defense). Wily Mo has been hitting better than Drew. I turned the game off when Drew PH for Wily in the 9th last night, because I knew it was already over. Wily has been hit and miss, but he has been productive overall (adventures in the outfield notwithstanding). Hinske is the perfect 4th OF/backup 1st baseman. He is the new Kapler, and I think he should continue to fill that role. With Coco we need to cut our losses. Wily has potential, but we don't have the room for him while he develops (unless somebody gets hurt [La-D Drew?]). So, basically, lose Wily and Coco, bring up Ellsbury, Get Cabrera back from the Angels (my fondest dream) and keep the pitching where it's at with Lester's return.

P.S. Franconer's temper tantrum - was that not one of the best moments of the season so far? His little McGoo face bloated red and contorted with rage as he pulled the seeds/chew out of his mouth with both hands? How can the team not rally around that?

Yeah! I've seen Tito get thrown out of games before but this is the first time that I was scared that he was going to have a stroke right there on the field!

I haven't been watching the games since they've been on the west coast (I get to today! Sweet!). Have the umps been jobbing the Sox?

He had a legitimate complaint last night, but there was something more going on that we don't know yet. He complained about a strike call from the dugout (definitely a questionable call) and got ejected. He came out to argue, then the ump said something, and then Tito lost it. So, that ump did something to set him off, and we don't yet know exactly what.
