Saw this in the Herald:

In a sign of solidarity, left tackle Matt Light has coerced his fellow offensive linemen to grow beards this season. Some guys have pulled it off well (Light, Stephen Neal, Logan Mankins) while others (Dan Koppen, Ryan O’Callaghan, Wesley Britt) will be happy to see a razor come February.

Get growing.

I will let my ear, nose and eyebrows grow to extraordinary lengths

Well, I've definately rumbled in the jungle, but I tend to go for the brazillian stripe, which is a little wider than the landing strip (or Playboy stripe).

Though I have been playing around with a slightly v shaped stripe in my trimming duties. :D

Bushy went out in the 70's. You can still find it in some old porn, and a feminist movement. IMO it's just too much work. You have to look for what you want, it gets in your teeth, and it's just not that attractive to have that area looking like Bluto from the "Popeye" comic strip.

I don't particularly care for smooth because, well, it makes me feel a little sleazy. I don't need the "pervy pedophile" vibe.

I'll vote for the landing strip/racing stripe option. Just enough to pinstripe the target area. :D

as for the racing stripe - does it have to shaved in the shape of an arrow to point the way?

Well, technically, it could have an arrow pointing in both directions, LOL. Depends on whether you're after the Cave Of Wonders or the Little Man In The Boat... :D
