News and Notes

Dice-K and the Red Sox look to stay hot against Tomo Ohka and the Blue Jays.

Ohka has been less than impressive this year, going 2-3 with a 5.50 ERA. However, he will be looking to prove himself in this game. He has 50 wins in the Major Leagues, second among Japanese pitchers, but hasn't receiver anywhere near the attention Dice-K has. He's coming off his worst start of the year, in which he gave up 7 runs over 7 1/3 innings to Texas. In his two career starts against the Red Sox, he's 1-1 with a 4.76 ERA.

Dice-K will be looking to rebound as well, after he gave up 7 runs to Seattle last Thursday. The last time he started against Toronto (April 17), he only gave up 2 runs over 6 innings with 10 Ks. Let's hope we get a similar performance tonight!

Pedroia is finally starting to earn the playing time he's given. He is 7/10 on the road trip, including a 3-run home run last night.

Well, the usher who was handing them out gave me two by mistake. Lo and behold, I scratched off the card and won a Glaus jersey. The lady at the Customer Service counter said, "Boy! This promotion is really back-firing. You're the third Red Sox fan to win a jersey today." Good stuff! :D
