Josh has been nothing less than stellar this year after a dissapointing debut with the Red Sox last year. Through four games, Beckett is 4-0 with a 2.55 ERA and 25 K's. Even better, he has allowed only one home run so far this season. Last year, Josh faced the Orioles once and pitched 7 innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 run along with 6 strikeouts. Beckett's mojo meter is off the charts right now, and look for that to keep up against the Orioles young starter, where Beckett should continue to recieve the early run support he has gotten so far.</center></td><td width="48"></td><td width="376">

Loewen, a 23 year old southpaw, was 6-6 with a 5.37 ERA for the Orioles last year after being called up from the minors. We saw him 3 times in 2006, and he pitched a total of 13 innings allowing 13 earned runs. If you're not so keen on math, that's a 9.00 ERA. This year he has started 4 games, winning 2 with a 3.72 ERA. A fairly highly regarded prospect, he has walked 19 batters in 19.1 innings with 13 strikeouts thus far. I'm willing to bet those numbers won't get any better pitching against the Sox. It should be fun to watch this kid though, and he may put up a fight.</center></td></tr></tbody></table>

Dustin Pedroia should make the start but Alex Cora may take his place, as he is statistically a better hitter against lefties.
